Exact same experience for us. Need to get their nails trimmed but I usually have them do that while they are at camp, so it has been awhile since I have done it. Just clicks everywhere she paces.

Yay power outages. 100+ ft pine took out my secondary line, main line, and probably a pole, too.

Bummer. At least it wasn’t the house and it’s not hot outside.

No, but it did fall in the direction of two neighbors houses. Kinda split their properties. I might end up having to buy some new fence for them, maybe more. We'll see the real damage in the morning. It was a freaking giant tree.

not your problem if it landed on their property due to a storm, act of god, catastrophic event, etc.

the only time you’d be responsible is if you were purposely cutting down a tree and it landed on and damaged their property.

No, it was already half down. I had called Duke and told them it was gonna fall. They sent a guy out and said yep, but it's a secondary line so it was my responsibility. I said fine but it is gonna take down the primary line and pole when it comes down, its going to come down in area where all the neighborhood kids play, and it might even endanger our neighbours houses or cars, so you'd be best off to go ahead and cut it down. Duke guy agreed with me and said he would talk to his super. In the meantime I called all the tree guys in Greenwood and everyone was booked for 2+ months because of the nasty ass storms we've had. Same day, Duke guys says his super agreed to do the work. Asplundh guy comes out next and says oh, that tree isn't going to fall any time soon and my 20+ years in tree work says it will be fine. I'm thinking you're a dumbass... But I neglect to tell him to his face. Oh well. Then the fucking tree falls.

Long ass story, but I got nothing better to do right now other than sleep...

I've had a small (but tall) dead tree in my back yard. It's been dead the whole 11 years I've lived here. There are very large oak trees on each side, a neighbor's fence on one side and a power line on the other. So I can't take it down myself. I wonder if the local co-op will take it down for me since it may fall on the power line.
