    1. Looks like you're sending them what you need to.
    2. I packed mine in the packing material they sent the diffs in. Pretty much what the link shows you. But ECGC says 5 gal buckets work just fine.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Here's some info on a potential source for parts. Especially water pump/timing belt/valve cover type parts. A legit shop where you don't have to worry about ending up with Chinese counterfeit parts (like from eBay etc)

Stopped by Yota1 Performance last week, to pick up the parts to do the Timing Belt / Water Pump on a buddy's 5vz-fe 4Runner. I've got to say their shop is legit! Friendly people, responsive to emails, kindly getting a quote together for us.

I know one thing, this is my go to, first stop, spot for parts from now on. Check them out, they do online orders as well.

    https://209yota1.com/

I just visted the shop again yesterday. Talked to the owner for a good 45 minutes. He's totally one of us. His current personal project truck is a 1st Gen double cab

It's using a 1/2" impact which I always have on me anyway. And if I don't I always most definitely have a 1/2" ratchet on me.

Just look at the build thread
Pulled the OME setup off and put on the new Toytec Boss Aluma series shocks. A huge improvement over my OME setup that had 45k on the and no bushing left in the front. I'll snag some pictures later. I'm worn the fuck out and need a nap.

I've never once smelled gas. I don't think these vent too easily. They aren't getting baked by the sun either which I think causes the biggest difference in expansion.

Mine do not vent even in the sun. I have to crack the lid open to get them to shrink so that I can get them out of the carrier.

With no work and online school it finally allowed me some time to build a spare tire gate. I used @Fuergrissa as inspiration and gathered some information from him and ran with my own design and ideas. I used drew 1.75 1/8th wall tubing for the main structure and two peaces of 1x2 1/8th wall rectangular tube for the up right posts. I had one of my old snapped spindles laying around in the garage so i took that and pressed out the hub to use as the mounting point as it would be easier to get the bolt pattern. I still need to add a couple tabs for lights, and one more support for the bar the tire hangs on.

For only welding for a couple months, using a grinder and a chop saw, im really happy with how it turned out. learned a lot about notching tube (waisted probably 3 feet of tube) and the importance of a good fit up.

Wow! Nice job. I'm sure this will be obvious as soon as you answer. Does this gate pivot down like the stock tailgate? I see hinges on both sides of the gate that looks like it swings out to the side but I don't see how it opens.

I sent my rear 3rd to them in a 5gal bucket. I cut a piece of wood to go between the pinion flange and the bottom of the bucket because it felt like it would plow straight through.
I believe I used a 1x4 and just cut it to the diameter of the bucket. This made the diff stick out the top a little, so I had to bend the lid down and go crazy with packing tape.
If you can find one of the slightly taller buckets, go with that. I had ECGS send me a fedex label since they could get a better rate than I could.

great choices for your first mods! The rear will definitely come down. I have the Dakar’s with the add a leaf and it sits with just a little rake to it. I have a full size spare (33”) underneath and a Hi-Lift along with the camper shell.

Yes, this is what I meant. I don’t know where I got the other term from.

5 gal buckets is what I ended up doing. It was tight height wise with the buckets I got, but I was able to make it work. Cut some cardboard to fit the bottom, stuffed it around the sides to keep it from moving too much, wrapped some duct tape to try and help reinforce it and hope for the best. I had them send me labels as well, mine were prepaid..I assume ECGS will charge me for them later :notsure:

Put on a 4crawler 1" body lift and new body mounts. Roger is a solid guy, I picked up my kit in person and had a really nice chat with him. Excited to finally get to work on this truck, more to come..
