Sorry for the double post. Still haven’t figured out why it does that randomly.

Time to bust out the ATF/ Acetone concoction formula and give that a soaking chance OP.

It looks pretty cool in theory. In practicality though, the quality of the item seems questionable at best and I feel like it would break on first use. I heir more on the side of cynical when it comes to made in China items.

I'm sure there's better ones. I just did a quick search. I don't even own one.

Everyone needs to pull their bed bolts and either grease or antiseize them before they become one with the frame

An hour is not long enough to soak those bolts, especially if it’s the first time being removed on a 2006. On my 2013, I sprayed the heads, washers and underneath daily for 6 days.

Edit: Just remembered you’re pulling the bolts closest to the tailgate. I applied the same method to those and they released as a breeze

Attempting to do this with a ratchet, I started to strip the head of the bolt. I ended up renting an impact wrench and took it out with little issue. Had to order a new bolt.
I have used anti-seize on these bolts every since and have invested in my own impact wrench.

I am not a huge proponent of anti seize, but when it comes to items like these and the control arm bushings I definitely agree with making sure they have a nice layer of the stuff on it to prevent or at least slow down freezing of the bolts.

You can pickup a corded impact for not to much. If you don’t use it often it’s a good option and comes in handy if you work on your truck much.

2.5 inch suspension lift front with rancho 9000 quick lift struts, rear rancho shock absorbers with 2.5 inch sky jackers add a leaf springs in rear. extra 2 inch long braided front brake lines with radiator flush, transmission flush, brand new front brake rotors, calipers, and shoes all done myself. more to come
I have had them strip out on me removing the bed bolts before. I ended up using my dremel tool to cut off the bolt heads and lifted the bed over the cut off ones and removed them with vice grips after. Then I went to the local junk yard and found “new to me” bed bolts and all’s well now

I've been using one since the late 80s/early 90s. They work just fine. I only recently upgraded to a cordless impact wrench last year. That old impact driver still rides in my truck.

Best thing about this impact is since you pound down to remove bolt etc. almost always wont slip and strip head . Bad .. will snap cheap sockets

I've sprayed them again and will do so again tomorrow before trying again. I havent tried the aforementioned hitting with a hammer trick yet either

If there was such a thing as a junk yard near me that has newer toyota trucks I'd try that lol but I've never seen tacomas in the near by yards

Definitely a feasible option. Might even look on fb marketplace or something for a good name brand tool

I've had one of these since 1976, got a new honda 750. Had aluminum cover bolts, and most would snap removing with a ratchet. Had to use the impact to break it loose. When removing the front seat bolts, one wouldn't budge, ratchet, or a small rigid cordless impact. Got out my old corded 1/2" impact, and out it came.

I haven’t tried that either. I just used a 3-4” breaker bar and a pushed. Also clean up the threads a bit underneath. Another member advised me of that and it helped for a smoother removal

I hadn't even thought to look for exposed threads underneath. Good idea

It doesn’t have to be perfectly clean. Anything is better than the current state to help for a smooth disengagement. When I re-did all 6 of mine:
