If it didn’t come pre assembled then you would need a spring compressor. I would recommend getting a new top hat and taking it to a shop and getting them to assemble it. It will illuminate a lot of time. Probably won’t cost much at all to get them to do it

I bought new top hats. The reason I didn't get them assembled is b/c they are adjustable and I want them to match the rear lift. I figured that was the easiest way.

I figured I wanted to go ahead and replace it all at once and not have to do things twice.

Getting that UCA bolt out is a bitch. If you dont want to bend your body then you need to get another through bolt. I can just cut the head off the one in there and we can slide the new bolt in. Its up to you.

Ive hear people do it with no problems. Mine went back in the same way it came out. The reason it goes the other direction is because the angle is angled upword so if the nut were somehow to come off the bolt wouldnt slide out.

One of my buddies almost lost his UCA nut when we were in Moab. He heard it hit and saw it rolling.

That's your best bet. Cut the old ones out and install new ones. Saves a lot of headache.

I personally would prefer it to go back together the way it came apart, but I'm not hell bent on it.

I'm really happy with how my truck is set up now. The wheels have a little more poke than my previous ones. Also, my bumper is sanded, primed, sanded again and 4 coats of semi gloss black applied. It has to dry and cure for 48 hours and I'll pick it up on Thursday! Then all I need is a slimline bumper with a winch in it and this truck will be set!

I'm not sure. He had someone do his lift for him. Luckily he saw it rolling and they got it back on, so no worries :D
