I’m looking into getting the Bilstien 5100’s I’m looking for a level look. Do I need OME Coils?

    No. Stock coils work fine.

Stock coils will work, but in order to get any lift you have to preload them which is gonna make your ride quality horrible. I definitely recommend going with aftermarket springs.

Bilstein doesnt recommend aftermarket springs. And myself and a few others on here have the 5100s set at 2nd or 3rd notch to level the truck. No bad ride for us.

That's incorrect, it doesn't preload the springs. Bilstein designed the shocks to work with the factory coils, and if you use a coil other than the factory coils you void the lifetime Bilstein warranty. Also I have two 2018s a dclb on the 4 the setting and a dcsb on the 5th setting, there is no difference in ride quality. In fact the ride is better than the stock sport ride quality. It handles better and rides a little firmer than an Off Road. You will be fine with stock coils.

I don't believe that aftermarket coils will void the Bilstein warranty. I have been looking to get them for a while and even @HeadStrong Off-Road gives you the option on their website to pick OME spring with the 5100's.

Just don't use ome springs as the sag over time. My buddy went through 2 sets and it rode no different than mine.

Call Bilstein and let them confirm it. I think you will be surprised. Head Stong may offer it but your not dealing with Bilstein. It will void the lifetime warranty.

Stock coils. I set it at the highest setting and I love how it drives now. Great handling and feels like a truck now. Felt too soft with the stock shocks until I got the 5100s. Popped a 1” block on the back and now it sits level and looks just like I wanted it to.

Well if that's the case then it's time to look for something else. Just don't understand why a reputable business would give you an option knowing it will void the warranty on the shocks.

Maybe you should look at something else then. All I'm saying is they will void the warranty, but that doesn't make them a bad company. The truck isn't going to ride any better with different coils. Driven a few with different setups and didn't see any advantage of different coils. It's just not necessary.

Bilstein’s lifetime warranty is a joke, for all you guys upset about losing it.

You ship your broken shock to them for review, they allow 2 weeks to do said review, then notify you if they’ll send you a replacement (you pay shipping), if they’ll give you a pro-rated amount off of a replacement at MSRP, or send you a new shock for MSRP plus shipping.

For a $100 shock. Go buy a new one, it’s a disposable item.

Run whatever coil you want, if you’re buying a cheap shock like the 5100 and banking on a warranty for issues then you may not be able to afford to lift in the first place.

Would you recommend a 1in block on the rear as well? Would it sit level on one of the middle settings? I read that setting 4 was at 1.55 would that be pretty close? I’m new to all of this lol.

Not sweating this. It's a truck and Bilstein is an inexpensive way to get a suspension upgrade from stock.

1.5” front 4th setting and Wheelers aal 1.5” to Maintain factory rake. Ride is great no complaints. To each there own right. Great budget lift. That being said. If not 5100’s. Go 6112’s. Either way great stuff also eibach great kit.

Also there is a thread somewhere on here that has a letter from bilstein to a meme we saying they will no warranty 5100’s with aftermarket coils. I’ll try to look for it. Also personally for me that’s why I went With 5100’s I new they would work great with oem coils and give me the desired lift I wanted. Just my 2cents
    Stay lifted
