Whatchu guys think about this: I drained my crawl box and transfer case to pull them and so it would stop leaking on my driveway. But I need to get to an exhaust shop. I found a reputable one but it's on the other side of town.

My thoughts: the crawl box and the transfer case shouldn't build up much heat, neither is doing work, it's only passing through from the trans. Both have a small amount of residual oil (1/4 quart at most) for lubrication. I think it should be ok, especially since both should get a bit of a cool down cycle at the exhaust shop.

    Yay or nay?

Looking great on the veggies Danny! Can't wait to add to the two tomatoes in the yard. Once I get done with the actual assembly, I have to build some new shelves! I gave my old ones away with the old greenhouse......

Thanks guys ,yeah we're pretty excited since this is the first year we do this much. Last year we just did tomatoes, and we did okay but nothing to brag about, so this is pretty cool.

What is that larger solar panel used for? I see the smaller one is like an attic fan.

The small one is indeed, a solar attic fan. The panel is a 50W panel, with a controller that will be inside. With a battery, time clocks, and meters that will power the pump from the rain barrel (still on order....) to the greenhouse via a drip system. Since I expect this new greenhouse to be plenty warm compared to the open air frame (even with two roof vents and a wall vent), I will probably give it three watering periods a day to start. We'll see how it goes. No seedlings to start - store bought plants repotted. Maybe some seeds if I can't find something I want..

I used to use the garden hose, with a hose timer that ran to the old greenhouse and watered early. So, it was always "there", and if we used it, we had to remember to put it back, and reset the timer to AUTO. So, kind of a pain and a little ugly (and hard on the hose).
I realized once the shed got built - hey - I have a roof, I can put gutters on it - the greenhouse has it's own little gutters too. And I can fill a barrel. Then, if I just get a solar panel and a little pump, and.....you get the idea.
I spent enough this spring that I can't mod the truck right now, so damn it, I will mod the shed and greenhouse!!!!! :spending:

If you dont mind... could you send me a link to those products? I.e the solar, pump and rain collector. Ive thought of this plan before to help with watering my fruit trees in the back, instead of bring the house all the way, as well as save a bit on water costs. Neat and green concept.

@Oldie2007 has quite the set up! One day I'll have a greenhouse with all the mods. Definitely an inspiration. I've been eyeing a few solar kits on Amazon. Relatively cheap, but is it cheap quality? I need to do more research.

They are all going to feature Chinese descriptions and instructions. Go by the specs you think you need (I got 50W), which should be more than enough for a little pump, and some LED lights I had gotten for under hood on the Taco! Read the US reviews. Like TW, you have to take some of the complainers with several grains of salt. But SUNER POWER seems to be a pretty good outfit, with a lot of kits and variations. The controller is far smaller than I thought it would be, but that's fine - will fit my panel better.
edit - I'm really happy with what showed up.

What panels did you end up going with? I found some that I can put on my taco. It's actually a very flexible panel, but again not sure how the quality is.
