For those of you who have shims on their rear leafs. How should I go about measuring for shims, after the new leafs are on do I measure before or after I put my anticipated constant load in the bed?

Caught me about a year late, Critter! I'd have snatched them up last year, but I did all that work refinishing my snowflakes and put gently used tires on them.

Ah yes, the hazard fraught. Where approximately 1 out of 100 items they make isn't complete trash.

I was wondering how long it would be before the other colors would pop-up.
It does help the crews identify the rigs from different departments during the chaos, or at a distance; even simple differences like blue text on white truck vs red text on white truck can help.
I have a relative that was (retired) a regional coordinator for EMS who would take me to various events when I was a kid.
Most people don't realize that company colors and logos are a thing in heavy industry too. It is crucial when there are hundreds of workers an arm length apart with various metalworking tools, overhead cranes, and a lot of gravity.
In a previous life, where we worked power plant and petroleum shutdowns, the big players were Westinghouse (Blue with White Trim, Circle W) and Babcock & Wilcox (Black with White Trim, BW).
The company I was with, assimilated by Chicage Bridge and Iron (White with Blue Trim,CBI), was Cooperheat (Red with White Trim, Square C).
So a Red Taco was not much of a leap for me.

    Mornin', Pennsyltuckians!!

My father-in-law was a physician and a frustrated plumber, carpenter, electrician, welder..... In his off time he would do all kinds of projects around the farm...many of which we are still trying to overcome. He would make daily trips to the local hardware store to buy tools, wire, screws, bolts....in quantity. Need one screw? Buy a box of 250...and get several lengths while you're at it. He lost a leg to diabetes and that ended his mobility...so he turned to Harbor Freight online and continued to buy crap. One day he decided he needed a heater for the small tractor garage when he could eventually walk - something that was never going to happen. A few days later a box was delivered...with an electric fireplace in it from Harbor Freight.

Lynn and I have given away more tools than most people own in a lifetime. We had a family reunion - Lynn has 7 siblings - at the farm last summer. We set up a cornhole - beanbag to us Pennsyltuckians - tournament and when your team was eliminated we gave you an axe...cause you got axed from the tournament...and because we found 10 of them so far in various locations on the farm. I'm still finding cheap Harbor Freight socket sets, guaranteed to split with a little torque place on it, and all kinds of other cheap drills and other crap. Hopefully, when I retire this summer I'll have a chance to really clear things out.

Anyone need a Delta radial arm saw with a bunch of extra blades? Probably more stuff with it that I just don't recognize. Come get it in Northeast PA!

    Stay safe out there!!

Wow good old CB&I in scenic Kankakee Illinois brings back interesting thoughts .

Years ago in New Jersey doing work on a power plant that pumped water up the mountain at night then it flowed back down turning the turbines during the day was the last I saw any CB&I people .

Things have sure changed in the last 30 years on the major projects

I can relate not so much tools but other stuff(junk) nothing was ever thrown out

Grand Dad was a real Plumber of course nothing could be thrown out cart it 180 miles to store it for another 25 years seldom using anything .

When you had parents that lived through the period before WW2 it was a given that both were pack rats sadly I don`t fall far from the tree. one persons junk is another persons treasure.

It has been a while for sure.
They wanted me to relocate to Chicago when CBI was doing the buyout. I took the hard pass.
