I started my truck and backed it out of my garage. As I put in park to let it warm up a little, it was ideling rough. Felt like something was kicking my left rear tire then it went away.

I started my commute to work and it "hiccuped" a couple of times. Kind of felt like a fuel delivery problem then it went away. My truck barely has 845 miles on it and is still bone stock.

If this continues, I'm definitely taking it to the dealer. I'm just checking to see if anyone else has experienced this before?

Maybe a bad tank of gas? Never had it happen before.

I'm always reputable gas, and always 91 octane. Its worth the money. When I was 18 I got gas fouling from a "Fas Gas" station in my old 95 S-10. As I was taking things apart, everything under the truck was so rusted that just taking the bolts off was breaking things left right and center. ended up replacing lines, fuel sending unit, pump, the tank itself. 800$ish dollars later my transmission failed 2 months later..... so pissed.

I keep the truck garaged overnite. The temp dropped, but by only 15 degrees. I recently put in some good gas and my light never came on.

I noticed that it does it when the engine temp isn't at norm. I went out to lunch and it did it again between 40-50mph then stopped when at normal operating temp.

I'm at about 1\8 tank and will fill up with 93 oct to see if that helps.

Take it to the dealer you bought it from, tell them it's not running right, you shouldn't have to troubleshoot a new vehicle. Probably something like gas, but get the behavior on record with the dealer.

x2, if it would happened to me (and it was), just before filling it up, I would put a gas line antifreeze. It helps to remove moisture.

However, if you gas already contains ethanol, you won't see a difference since it acts like a gas line antifreeze...

If it happens again, time to pay a visit to your dealer.

Update. Got off work and started cold. I let it warm up as usual. No issues. Took off the parking lot and nothing. Looks like it stopped doing it. I got a half tank of 93 oct just in case. You're right about it shouldn't be my job to troubleshoot it, but my weekend is pretty busy.

So far so good. Running great. I'm off Monday and going to have the dealer check it out anyway.

Thanks very much for all the replies.

Wish me luck and have a safe Holloween weekend, fellas.

Mine also does this if I drive off after I cold start the vehicle. Idling or warming the engine for 2-3 mins and it never happens. I'm guessing something to do with the richness of the mixture on a cold engine, similar to trying to operate or drive something with the choke on with a cold carborated engine.

You're not the only one. Mine was doing this at random times that I couldn't recreate. At first it was mainly after I'd leave for work early in the morning and idle at a stop light. It would sputter for a couple seconds and then stop and it would be fine the rest of the way. Then another time it did while I was traveling around 40 mph. I took in to the dealer and they hooked it up to their diagnostic tool. Everything checked out fine but the tech felt it sputter. Since it was close to the end of the day they didn't have time to take it apart and troubleshoot and that I should bring it back in early on another day.

He said it could be from bad gas, but I've been filling up at the same busy gas station for the last 5 years. At the time I was running 93, but once that got used up I filled with 87 and ran the shit out the engine to use up what ever of that old gas was left and the sputtering got lighter and lighter. So far I'm halfway down from a fresh new tank of 87 and I am not having that issue anymore. Maybe it was the gas. :notsure: I'm just over 3600 mi on the clock.

    Update...

I hope they find the problem.

It got worse. Last night, I got in the truck and the traction control light was on and the check engine light was flashing. The idle wad rough and it felt like my tires were out of balance everytime I would excelerate.

I made time this morning take it to a dealer. I'm actually here now waiting on a shuttle service to take me home.

    This sucks.

Hang in there the techs should be able to figure it out prettty fast. There are a number of things that could cause this problem.

I hope it all works out for you.

    Keep us posted.
