is that a pain removing the trim pieces? the painting is no issue for me. but dealing with body assembly and disassembly is like choosing to be a lawyer or something.

The console is a piece of cake. Flip open the console lid, remove the knob and put it in 3rd gear, pull up from the front until it releases, and then pull up on the rear at the front of the console box. Once the console is loose, reach under and disengage the brake boot. You can feel where it will unclip. From there, the console will lift off.

Under the shift boot is a reverse pulled zip tie. I was able to reuse mine the first time. The Redline Goods boot needed a longer zip tie.

The one thing that I did find after pulling the console about five or six times, two of the three rear clips gave up the ghost. Not a worry as it doesn't rattle.

i know about all that, I'm talking about the vent rings and door handles, all that chrome. or are those rings part of a single piece?

Ohhh! I was scratching my head there.

The center vent rings are melted in to the main vents on the head unit surround. Folks have removed and reinstalled them. The left side one comes out with the instrument surround. No fasteners on either of those. I never removed the right one. Just worked on it while in place. Meso has a video showing that. I'm just not a fan of his shapes rings. I like smooth.

I honestly don't notice the door handles. They are super easy to swap though. I don't believe that the door panel even has to come off.

A friend and I had a killer day out wheeling in melting snow.

We got stuck a few times. I strapped him out once and he strapped me out once. We used all the tools that we had. For me: aired down Wildpeaks, TRAC modes, traction boards (the cheap X-Bulls rocked it), shovels, straps, the 2LM, @Shellshock 's sweet little deflator, and @OVTune 's 2.0 tune were epic. For the Bronco: 35s, MT, Detroit locker rear, and LSD up front.

Basically, the Wildpeaks were as good as my ground clearance would allow.

The Bronco was struggling but eventual got through in the next attempt:

The Taco had a lot less struggle?

This was where we stopped because the turn ahead got really deep and the grade increased a lot past the corner:

    IMG_20200503_110051.jpg

The SWB had some extra fun after we turned around:

    Sorry about that loud laugh.

Coming back down the first trail showing all the stuff that we got through:

I need to figure out the focus control. The stabilization on a rigid mount still amazes me for a phone camera.

About the 2:40 mark is where the first video fun happened on the way up.

This was the last trail where we really got hung up:

My usual for barefoot driving. I didn't take them off until we started digging after the last vid. LoL!
    IMG_20200503_110036.jpg

For about 190mi and almost 20mpg (both corrected according to GPS) on the day:
    IMG_20200503_160718.jpg

As a comparison, the stock Toyos didn't do so well in similar stuff back in 2018:
    IMG_09361.jpg

Stopped at the first tough section.

Any time that you might be through, we can hit those spots.

IDK, yours are not much different than my Wildpeak SLs:

35psi was not working though. I went to 18 and got gobs of traction without any issues.

yeah i see. I'm on the LTs, that's a pic of a 4S i believe and the tread is a tick less aggressive. in the same ballpark.

last i did (in CO) i had STMaxx, and i could zip right up anything like the bronco in that climbing vid. haven't tried anything OR with the LTs yet.

That was my first wheeling trip with these tires and couldn't be happier. We had snow in the lowlands this year and they were great aired up.

I was bumming that I didn't have a HC rear bumper to try that climb. There was a pretty serious breakover at the top of both approaches also.

That was trails on both sides of the Stampede Pass exit.

Sorry! My friend didn't even bring his daughter since we have been trying to get the Bronco running reliably for a couple years now. It was a big test and we were both stoked with how well it ran both in the snow and on big inclines.

Just in case any folks upgrade to the TRD skid, I initially removed the frame supports. You can see them reattached to the stock skid for storage. Those stay on!

Attached are the TRD skid instructions to clear that up and give torque specs.
