I know this is a bit of a stretch on a question but I figured I would ask anyway. On the 2016 Tacoma entune head unit the volume knob is smooth to the turn, while the tune/scroll knob has a physical haptic feedback. The clicky type.
My question is, is it possible to swap those knobs with each other to create the feedback on the volume button instead of the tune button. I know it has to be more than just swapping the buttons because I'm figuring the mechanism is somewhere back there that creates the feedback, but just figured I'd ask if anyone knows whether the physical design of the head unit would even allow it. Thanks in advance.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
You are correct. Swapping knobs won’t change shit. It’s within the head unit. that said, Hondo Garage makes some really great aftermarket knobs that are so much better than stock.

@Beancooker is correct- I'm not sure if someone has disassembled a head unit to see if the knob kagiggers are swapable, and even so, I bet we're talking detailed electronics soldering.

For knobs themselves, my vote is for @Tacowiede https://www.tacomods.com/shop

@OneMoreToyota makes these. Unlike most other knobs, they actually match the interior really well. Won't solve your clicky issue though.

I looked to get aftermarket knobs for my 2020 but nobody makes them. They make them up to 2019. I ordered a set from Hondo and they didn't work on my 2020 Tacome.

I don't play and they sadly don't go up to 11, but these have worked great for me:

They snap on over the stock knobs. After I knew that I liked them, I added a bit of CA glue.

I can't take credit. It was posted in the Today thread.

I was wondering if they would look out of place, but never once have I thought it was a mistake.

Yeah I actually think I might try some "Gibson Top Hat" style knobs

    Or maybe some speed knobs

Oh no! Those look really nice. Lemme know if they work.

If they hold on with no glue, you're 90% there.

I went with the OE RAV4 knobs for my ‘20 (they do work, sorta), but will be switching them back to stock. I lost on/off functionality of my power button as it sits slightly over the trim plate. Hopefully @MESO will get around to radio knobs at some point
    :fingerscrossed:

I have those and agree! Although I will be going with something else here in the next week or so when the new knobs get here. Those are great but since I changed out interior trim to MESO black, they don’t fit the motif anymore. Lol
