ARB OME 2-3” lift kit question

After many months of research and always holding off because I was never sure which way to go, I’ve finally decided on how I want to lift my 2018 Tacoma TRD OR. I was trying to achieve 2.5-3” of front lift and 1.5-2” of rear lift without sacrificing ride quality or performance. I’ve decided to go with a full OME setup. Medium load set up - 888 coils, leaf pack and nitrocharger shocks front and rear and trim packer for drivers side “taco lean”. Order placed.
I’m excited to get this setup installed but before I do, I would like to hear from any others running this same set up on a 3rd gen Tacoma, how much front lift was achieved with OME shocks and 888 coil? I seem to read it’ll only be 2” on 3rd gen, but 3” on 2nd gen because of the weight differences and because the stock 3rd gen already comes 1” lifted in front.. is this accurate? Will running a couple small 1/4 top plate spacers be a good way to help get it to at least 2.5” front lift? I’ve read basically all good things on the OME set ups, so I’m confident I’ll be happy with it, but curious on this one point. I’m trying to eliminate some of the factory rake (not necessarily wanting full level but closer to level than stock rake). With 2” lift in rear, I’ll need at least 2.5-3” front lift to get that look, so curious how folks, if possible, are making that happen? And why are folks getting 2.75” with Bilstein 5100s set at 0 with the same spring as my OME setup when OME setups are advertising only 2” of front lift? The shock length maybe? Appreciate any insight from someone with experience on these points. I’m a newbie and this will be my first lift on any Tacoma. Thx

I have the same setup being delivered today. I had good luck with the OME (with 887) on my 2nd gen. I was also wondering the same thing and was thinking of installing the 1/4" spacers if needed.

 

I think most people do experience settling/sagging of the 888 and 887 coils. You can always add a strut spacer later if this happens. Another question you might want to ask yourself is “will I be adding any armor or weight up front?”

I’d recommend pulling measurements or your stock height hub to fender before deciding on a lift.

Do you have measurements? Hub to fender or ground to fender? AAL or full pack replacement?

 

No measurements at the moment.
Leafs are medium Dakars (EL095R).

not planning to put any weight up front, other than maybe a led light bar which doesn’t weigh much. Do you think 888 coil will provide more than 2” of front lift without spacers in the beginning? Seems like folks with Bilstein 5100s say yes, but OME shocks are saying not really, which is what confuses me. Thx for the advice.

If I had to guess how much it has settled/sagged, I’d say maybe 1/2” or less.

887 are taller springs (I believe). This will get you closer to the 3” you want up from. You might be able to add .5” spacer to driver strut and .25” to passenger with 888s if you’re worried about settling. Email Marie over @HeadStrong Off-Road.

 

I think the 888s are taller than the 887s, but yes I’m thinking about going with some small spacers to get desired lift if it doesn’t work out with the springs alone.

Actually the 888's are a taller spring then the 887's.

I ran them with the soft riding shock up front, trim packer on the drivers side, have sense moved to 886's with the same setup.

Too much sag? Or did you switch for another reason? Were you running with a lot of weight up front? Thx

They started to sag once I installed skids and rock rails, then came the bumper and winch, had to change out.
