This is crude oil prices, NRGU is oil companies.

I'm thinking about shorting oil for a day or so... (SCO)

My $0.02 on TRTX. As a looong holder of NRZ (Another mreit) that was paying $2.00 a year $0.50/qtr for years...The stock went from $17 down to $3. I own the shares at zero cost due to dividends over 8 years. Well I bought even more at $3. I'm hoping the survive. They had a margin call on some their loan assets and had to sell off at a discount about 40% of book value assets. That places the stock at about $11-12 post covid. Here's the important info. They survived by cutting the $0.50 dividend to $.05. The fact that TRXT paid the full dividend is either a sign they are really strong or really wreckless. It looks more like wreckless because they have stopped funding loan advances and now are rethinking paying the full dividend.

    welcome to the darkside

edit: hopefully you didn't get in right as it dropped at 12:15. I like to watch UCO and SCO as they are opposites, usually ill play both at the same time, sell one buy the other. Exited my position SCO this morning so looking to get back in during this drop.

Please don't remind me about NRZ. I own that, and am probably sitting ok with all of the dividends I have received, but I will get out if it gets back to its old prices (or even close).

    TRTX news..
    https://commercialobserver.com/2020...ding-loan-last-month-due-to-liquidity-issues/
Well, I bought it as NCT back in march of 2011...and then they announced reinstatement of their dividend and it's been gangbusters....NCT split to NRZ, SNR, DS, GCI...all of those are on my original $6/share investment it's 180% return at it's present level...When it was at $18 it was a 4 bagger....I've been adding and glad I did.

Stocks I'm hot on is the ETF NAIL. It's a 3x of the building/home improvement sector. I'm in at $10.60 and it's up to $17 already. It was at $90 pre-covid.

Now you got me thinking I should sell TRTX. I’m up 100%, maybe there’s better options?

There are definitely other options. Can’t complain about cashing at 100%. And the stock sale is nowhere near over, plenty of other places to park those funds

It depends on what your goal is. You need to set a goal when you buy..."What return would I be happy with? Am I long?" With short term I love a sell half/hold half on a big return especially if the sell 1/2 covers your entire initial investment...I do this a lot with options.

Well today was my best day for day trading. Stuck to my plan and scalped a few stocks left and right constantly for consistent gains. Very happy I didn't get fomo or greedy trying to chase any runners. Hope everyone else was able to get some green, my dividend acct wasn't so lucky and stayed red.

Just remember it's a 3x ETF...So it's going to get wacky some days. If the market drops 1.5% (Lowes, Home Depot, DHI, LEN) this goes down about 5%...That's the risk. But assuming all of those companies even return to 50% of what they were pre-covid the stock is 3x bagger for you at that buy price.

Im in VISL and stopped out of MVIS yesterday when the whale dumped his 700k shares plummeting the price. Hopefully the MSFT rumor is true and it takes off and doesnt pull a UAVS where you find out the rumor is fake and they are selling drones out of a pickup and not with AMZN lol. Buy the rumor sell the news.

Thanks for the explanation. I see a lot of home builders also are in on this. Heard some of them are initiating layoffs. KB specifically.
