8 months ago I received a notice to bring the truck in for inspection. It passed and they told me no further action was required.
Then this week I get ANOTHER notice in the mail to bring it in for ANOTHER frame inspection.
So I called and explained that we already did this 8 mos ago. The service advisor said "yes, Toyota wants to look at the frame again". So I'm taking it in again tomorrow

Be glad they are being proactive. At least you're not in here bitching about a shitty dealership that won't help.

I got the same thing -- and I really don't feel like going into the dealership at the moment. Keep us posted. I wonder what they'll tell you, and if it's worth me going back in.

    Thanks Sid.

You missed the point. What has changed in 8 months? I'll find out.

When your frame shits the bed you'll be happy that you've jumped through a couple hoops for a free replacement.

From what I've read, they're now requiring the crc application in order to be covered for replacement frame down the road.

Or, maybe they miss that big cheery smile...

I guess I just don't get the point of making a thread saying "WTF" when a dealership wants to check your frame again. I think that's a good sign. Especially after all the threads you read of dealerships not doing the right thing.

This is an inconvenience. Second time there...then there will be a 3rd to apply some goop. Then probably a 4th and 5th time. TOYOTA had tons of experience with frame rust issues LONG LONG before 2015. This is actual BS.

I'm in Alabama. I don't have to worry about rust. I'm also a diabetic, so only Diet Coke for me  You seem to be real happy with what seems to be a decent dealership. Sorry for your troubles.

Holy shit, you don’t HAVE to go. It’s a recommendation for a possible defect by Toyota but if you’re not seeing obvious symptoms or not willing to, you don’t HAVE to.

You need help with reading and comprehension. I did not express that I was unhappy with the dealer or anything negative towards the dealer. Again, you missed the point.

You're right dude. Best wishes with your rusting frame.
Maybe don't put "W.T.F." and all CAPS in posts, b/c I think most people would assume that person is upset.

You might see it as a slight inconvenience, but atleast they want to check it out. That and no charge to you, well besides fuel to get there. Better to be pro-active about it.

The dealer applied the CRC to my truck 14 months ago and is coming off in some spots. It goes in today for a trans service and they had no problem scheduling a frame inspection at the same time. Better safe than sorry. Honestly now's a decent time to be going in as less people are going to be there. In and out quicker...

When I got the letter it said bring in for inspection, and then it also said after inspection I would get another letter to bring in for crc undercoating spray. This is what’s happening to the OP. I think the procedure is in the 1st letter.

just got a letter extending the frame warranty on my 11 through 2023. Called dealership to see if I should have it inspected in case of rust. They told me they do not do that, that it will be inspected during 'regular servicing'. My husband servies it :) Any hint of things for him to look for other than the obvious of visible rust? Are there other subtle indicators? Thanks

Nitwit, I don't have a rusting frame. How did you conclude that?

You win dude. I don't give a fuck about your frame. Make sure you tag me when you start a thread bitching b/c your frame needs to be replaced. I'd like to see pics.

    Heed your own advice.
I don't recall hoping your frame goes bad. You're obviously in a part of the country where rust is a problem. It's bound to happen unless you got that unicorn frame from Toyota.

    Facts aren't hope.

Go ahead and respond one more time so you can get the last word. I'll leave with my clean frame and no worries :D
