Does anyone know if this would cause a slow leak? Discount tar is saying i need to replace the rim. Tire had to get replaced too but they had to order it. Trying to decide if i should roll the dice with this one or try to find another 17" wheel. 9CE00E1C-3A71-4EBF-9DE2-ADED1A2849E4.jpg

Buff it off smooth. I got tractor rims that look way worse than that

Looking at the tim seems like it’s not getting a good bead on the tire, maybe one of the putting areas is the culprit.

I think its still got some life left in it as well. I have also seen tractor rims that you'd never think would hold air do just fine. I just cleaned it up as good as i could, hopefully it will do the trick

I think you're right. I just cleaned out a bunch of red dirt and rocks that were pretty much pulverized and stuck to the inner bead on the rim. Am i understanding right that most of the bead actually seats on the more vertical section of the lip rather than the outside where all those little pit marks are?

heres some pics of it cleaned up

A little something every chance we get.
Evening everyone! Good day on the greenhouse front (or back I guess)! I'll spare everyone the step by step (and save those for the Palram group), and get you to where I ended with just a few shots. I found a new photo editor, but I'm too slow getting started on it, so just the phone.....

First, the automotive crossover use - magnetic parts bowls are perfect for a project like this, with lots and lots of hardware!
    20200506_113838.jpg

As always, seems like getting started is the slowest part. Getting the main frame on the 4x4 straight, square, and level is a pain. And some bends in the 4x4 required a little shingle work. Naturally, the screws I was using were just small enough that I had to run to ACE to get some washers. But it's anchored and fastened now.

    20200506_124932.jpg

This was the first "accomplishment" past the corners - the back wall. After that, it was just more of read the coloring book, count the hardware into one of my magnetic trays, ID the parts, and install. Turn the page and repeat. Some of it was kind of flimsy without a spare hand, but not impossible as a DIY.
    20200506_154941.jpg

And it continued like that until I got this far, and had my beer. Reached the point where wall panels going in are the next step, and I didn't want to leave them unsupported overnight. So, window walls first thing, and the first mod is a wall louvre panel!
    20200506_173529_edited.jpg

So, I have to think I will have it at least 95% tomorrow. Everyone says the door is the biggest pain, and that's near the end.

I agree, im not too worried about the scratches. The rim has a few deep gouges on the face, i just want the darn thing to hold air so i have a solid spare

Looking good so far man! Did this come as a kit or are you building it from scratch?
