Would you be offended?

Hello, just a Curious question for all you FOLKS, out there in the TW land. If you happen to be out and about, shopping or whatever. You heard hispanic music playing, that is a broad term, could be south american, mexican, music from spain. Would most of you get annoyed, offended? I got called a "N " word today while at a traffic light. I was listening to Los Tigres De Norte, its a really bad ass mexican band whom I was going to see but my unit deployed on short notice. So i was not able to see them, I was so bummed. I am just generally reaching out and asking.

 

As a Mexican, I would never be offended. I don’t get offended by any music regardless of origin.

 

No, i hear it all the time at work, doesnt bother me a bit. Some people are scared of anything slightly different then themselves. Or they are just asshole bigots.

 

Some people are assholes. Just do you man. Maybe hes having a bad day.

 

Not in the least. The world is full of stupid people. Know that that's what they are and move on.

I grew up in Texas and remember hearing it played loud in one of the grocery stores there. Lol Nah dude. Not offended at all. Thought it was cool that the grocery store was rocking. Haha

I don’t care what anyone listens to. Some people just like to bitch about anything.

 

It’s music. I may not like all music, but that’s no reason to get mad and be a jerk because someone is listening to something I don’t like. Listen to what you want, and turn it up louder.

 

ok, good, I thought I was crazy then. My wife is Armenian , and am getting her into these types of bandas. I had tickets for us back in october in vegas to see christian nodal and los tigres. Its just wild to me that racism still exists in the pacific northwest. I am originally from Cali, bay area born and raised. Thanks for your replies, hope yall had good 5 of may days. I did!

It's a job. The less than %1 of Americans that actually enlist. My sister and I were both deployed together this is us. This was us a few months back. OIR. She's still over seas. I got Injured, got medicvaed out.

 

Why would they call you an N word for listening to Latin music?
I mean..... Obviously they are dumb but that's just like a whole new level of dumb.... are you sure they were talking to you?

on a side(ish) note, 90.3 KEXP out of Seattle has their Latin music show on Monday Nights, El Sonido, good stuff, you should check it out if you haven't already.

 

The only thing that offends me is when people install subs, dont tune them, then all you hear is bass.
