Yeah in theory yes, but it wouldnt be that noticable. I honestly would go 4.56 that would make the biggest diffrece in a 6cyl without adding too much rpm on hwy.

No better time to do it? Front locker? Or rear? Yours didn’t come with rear locker?

I don't really think a locker is a "must have" for me, but if I do regear…..might as well.
I don't consider myself a "rock crawler", just a camper that likes trails :D......or "overlander"

Sup Phillip, just relaxin' after a great dinner.

You have a 4-cylinder? if you move up to 255/75, it'll only be an inch taller. When mounted on your truck, would lift your truck an extra 1/2".
A rear locker would be one of the greatest mods you can do to your truck. Ask Brian!

I have the 6cyl with 3.73 gears. I've been more than happy with how my truck has done. A rear locker will only come if I have to regear. I'm just not sure what tires I will have to go with after the lift. Tire size will determine what happens as far as gears and stuff.

If you have 4wd you are going to have to redo the front and back to be the same. Even then not sure a 4cyl would drop into current vehicles without a bunch of modification. I read a lot over the years and finally got most of the info through my thick skull about how they operate and pros/cons of the different ratios.

2wd prerunners 4cyl are the same as 6cyl models. I replaced mine with a complete diff from a 6cyl trd sport. but yes he will have to regear the front as well if he plans on using 4wd

I do know that both F/R will have to be done at the same time :D. I was just thinking that if the 4cyl came with 4.30, that might be a cheap way to regear. With it being 4.10. I assume it'd be just like my TJ(3.73) to a Rubicon(4.10). There wasn't too much of a difference in those.

Regear hopefully sooner than later and will add rear locker. I doubt I'd do front...probably regret that however.

On that note you got any local Bham shops to do the full regear instead of sending off?

Also if I ever buy new lift setup (just not a fan of the 5100s....) I'll buy crawfish and beer for install help!
