Ha i used the precut piece from BAMF to mark it up, cut just a little small then ground it back until the piece fit just inside with a hammer. I wanted it pretty tight since i was Tig welding. I’m not a very good welder but still pretty proud of it.

 

Took the Softtopper off for the summer months.

I installed these slick little billet aluminum ABS sensor protectors from SDHQ. Cheap insurance and they have a great finish!

It's interesting to me that you wrote that. Recently I was in a friend's offroad shop and talking with one of his new just hired mechanics. I saw a truck in the shop with coilovers and spacers and I asked that mechanic about it. He explained to me how it wouldn't hurt the coilover but his explanation didn't make any sense to me whatsoever lmao.

Inquiring minds want to know.

 

The coilovers will bottom out before bump stops engage. This can happen just driving down the road and hitting a pothole, albeit a big ass pothole.

If you want to protect the coilovers you move the bump stop down so it engages properly. You lose a considerable chunk of your travel though. This is why spacers are generally seen as a negative thing.

 

I couldn’t believe how well the sentinel climbs. Despite having a crazy slack HA & long wheelbase, it has a super steep seat tube angle and it doesn’t bob around on climbs even with the rear shock open. I climbed 900ft in 10 miles today seated mostly & it was great. And this is coming from a hardcore lightweight XC hardtail guy who was just riding a stache for a year

I’ll take it on some proper enduro runs soon at south mountain, but yes I’m loving it a lot & it climbs incredibly well for an enduro Long travel 29er. Mine weighs a ton & i didn’t really feel the weight. It also was dead quiet and smooth even in the 50t chainring which was a nice surprise.

 

You got a more specific list of what ya did? I'm in the same boat. Hitting about 240/tank now.

Is rock crawling the only time a strut/coilover bottoms out? I'm pretty sure I've heard and felt it in the desert.
