Early 16's and 17's didn't get those frame endcaps either, they started adding them on the Canadian trucks first btw.
I "think" it was 18 when they started adding them to all production.

Mine was Oct 17 and had the endcaps but no wax in the frame.

And this is why 18 is the best year :duh:got all the best things :crapstorm:

I don't think I have wax applied though, nothing that I seen while chopping cab mounts and burning new into frame.

I noticed on 18's on there is some very light wax sprayed over weld areas and in the boxed area of the frame but it's not like what this service campaign is doing.
"Factory" treatment you would not even know it's there unless you run your finger over it or the light hits it the right way.

Lol more wax it used on a Brazilian wax than on on the truck.

Keep up the oil spraying if you want enough of your truck left to be able to weld parts to...

18's got all the best things huh? Let me go polish my Pro grill that does not void warranty and put the polishing cloth in my passenger side rear storage compartment. Replace a windsheild to factory specs $400....
I'm not worried that you'll come over here and beat me up over this.... your fuel pump may not make it past Oakville.

And how can you crow about being an '18 lol not too much made in 18 left on your truck....

    shots fired
Even if my fuel pump may not help me to reach you, at least my interior is going to be dry on those rainy days near 3rd brake light :quickdraw: plus you wouldn't hear me coming either way from all that whining noise differential makes. That's given if your truck doesn't catch fire first while being connected to a block heater, but hey at least it'll keep you warm while waiting for local fire brigade:stirthepot:

Ha! see! you admit it, 17's were the best engineered,
even a defective block heater from a 3rd party supplier was addressed by the 3rd brake light, self extinguishing system.
    That's proactive engineering!
Your just jealous that your truck interior is all dry and flammable!
Ask the Jeep guys... They call it personality. Dry interior is for the mall crawlers!
That's not Tacoma Howl in the rear end, nope,
that's the stealth turbo's they only installed in the 16's and 17's to give us all that extra horsepower.
They had to take it out in 18 because of the environmental stuff you know.

16's and 17's don't panic and slam on the brakes when they see a snowflake either...
Scared of a snowflake, hrrrmph .
Guess all that nanny stuff helps in real life situations,
you know texting in linups at starbucks you can set adaptive cruise.

But at least we can agree on one thing.... Not driving a slush box, we got the best half of any years!

See, if Toyota got some one else to design the slushbox most of their complaints would go away.

Well except for all the rust of the 14's and second gens....

(Is there anyone I haven't offended yet? Please speak up I don't want to be accused of age discrimination... )

Yeah they use the same information as Consumer Reports, might as well ask Oprah what her opinion is.

Lol glad I'm standing at the parts counter when I found that out.

Even the parts person at a Mercedes dealer would get the "down the glasses look" , not the "WTF are you kidding me" as I'd be a little more prepared

Oh Yeah forgot you had the Chuck Truck edition....

But remember what you did to Chuck?

    :sawzall:

You better get that decal back on there....
before Chuck finds out what you did,
cause I'm sure it won't be covered under warranty.

I like all the diff gens of the Tacoma's . Really could not say which one is "best" . Well except for mine of course.

Just don't like how they are trying to take the enthusiasts out of the vehicle, (it's not a minvan)
and put the nanny in, and now big brother on the 2020's.

Lets see what the dealers do with all the telemetry data for warranty claims... Lol
Driver score 61... no warranty for you.
Oh it looks like you drive down a Hydro Line trail 2 years ago, that's only for commercial or fleet vehicles so your powertrain warranty is void.
Can't change nothin' nooo gotta drive a dixi cup like everybody else. New Hubcaps no warranty.
For everything they make better, they take something away. :annoyed:

@tacoma16 - i see you initially had the first gen shackles and had to remove some material on the BAMF hanger and shackle to get them to not rub. did the new shackle completely solve that issue? also did you have to trim the ends or corners of your Dakars to work with the newer shackle? some poeple are reporting the Dakars fit in the BAMF shackle fine but most saying you need to trim them.

The slushbox in my 2019 is driving me insane! Thankfully my other 3 rides are manual.
