nope. I’m not being tempted by cruise lines anymore. RCL selling at break even and then I’m done. At least during this pandemic crisis whatever. No cruise lines for me anymore.

I am really debating selling my holdings that cut or suspended dividends and not looking back. They are EPR, F, and NRZ. My losses would be around $5,800. The silver lining is that I could salvage about $4k and put it to work. I have been thinking about starting a position in SPHD, and would probably put it there. With the decline SPHD has taken lately, my losses would actually be about $3k since it’s cheap right now (that’s assuming I had bought it with this money instead of these other companies). I would be selling something low, and immediately buying something that’s also low, so not panic selling or anything like that. I don’t mind waiting around and holding companies with big losses, but only if they keep paying dividends. This is just dead money, and that’s what’s bothering me I guess.

The goal is a dividend portfolio that keeps paying consistently, increasing over time. I want it to eventually have the smallest likelihood of dividend cuts, and I am learning how the hard way.

    What do you guys think?

    Intentionally taking a $5800 loss?

I have zero input on that...

Well when you immediately buy something that’s down almost as much, it’s not really the same as taking that loss.

It'll be a right off for Uncle Sam so take that into account. If you really aren't happy with the divs and think you can make a better play in the long run do it. They can't all be winners. Whatever you do at least get rid of F.

I'm holding my F :anonymous: I DCA'd it down a little bit and received a free stock when my sister signed up for RH, I'm only in 20 shares though.

That’s true. It’s a realized $5,800 loss, a theoretical $3k loss, and after taxes a theoretical $1,550 loss. Not as bad when you understand it.

I’d say if you want out of those 3, and into something else, now is probably the time to do it. The loss upfront hurts, but you would be getting in at a discount. Get your portfolio the way you want it.

SPHD was one of the first holdings I started off with, and along with T, make up the bulk of my dividend portfolio on robinhood. I'm not too terribly down with either, and the payout has been nice.

I was thinking about just throwing all dividend cutters into SPHD, which will get me almost 6% right now. I’d probably just keep adding to it forever, it is consistent so companies cutting won’t affect it.

thats my plan, i had some money in Ford and GE but wasnt happy with it and sold both and just started with that in SPHD and have been consistently adding to it.

I look to the earning power of money more than at the money itself. I have $4k getting almost nothing, I’d rather get 6% on it (that’s now, I know that fund is 4% in normal times).

The math on the Dec options make it a bad deal option in my book. Stock is trading at $17.27. The Dec $23 ask is $11.00. That means it has to be $34 a share in Dec to be profitable. Right now that $1100 premium buys 63 shares. If you bought shares instead of the options and the stock hits $34 that's $937.50 in profits, and a value of 63x$34 for a total of $2,142. In my opinion there's no value in that option.

For about $1,100 you could get the $125 Jul 2022 DIS calls...IMHO much better upside for that money.

Futures are up, but none of them seem to be mine. I’m having a great week
