Great! I'm looking forward to trying them all.

They gave me 2 free passes for tours. I know I won't be getting out their any time soon so: Anybody live near the GB distillery or planning to visit? If so, pm your address and I'll put them in the mail.

I still have one more bottle of the 10 year Yoichi. Like most of the Japanese distilleries, they've gone to non aged stated stuff. It's really, really good.

This stuff without stated age compares favorably to many older whiskeys and scotches. It's damned fine.

Had to crack this one today. Is good stuff, but I have to admit that I miss the proof of the single barrel picks.

I'd really like to do this but I too dont know when I could make it, especially with all this nonsense that's going on right now. My brother moved to McKinney texas which is a few hours away from them. So when I go it will be for multiple good reasons!

If I tried this blind and you told me it was a beer mashbill, I'd have guessed Shock Top. It is citrus on the nose, but the oily orange peel variety. Very malty, too. The unorthodox mashbill is more noticable on the palate. More of that orange peel, which is a bit bitter, but with a very buttery note, like soft, fresh pralines. Lots of oak and spices. Heading back in with an acclimated palate teases out a little fresh fruit (think red apple).

Might be psychological, but I swear the finish tastes like you just took a sip of beer. Herbal and again a tad bitter.

It was $40. It tastes like everything you'd expect from a Texas distillery using beer to make malt whiskey - like redneck engineering a scotch.

Overall, on taste alone, about 5/10. Price and uniqueness make it worth the buy. Doubt I'll drink much of this alone, but will absolutely love drinking it with someone trying it for the first time. Lots to unpack.

Snagged a bottle of this today (B12). Hear good things. Going to stash it with my collection for now (Woodford Double Oak, Single Barrel Knob selected barrel, Weller Antique) while I finish off a bottle of Eagle Rare.

    it’s been a good quarantine.

I've been drinking this one this week, because Cinco de Mayo.

It's a very Bourbon-y Tequila; lots of oak & vanilla.

Saw my first two bottles of Blanton's in person today at the same store... They're still there tho.. those motherdicks want $299 each!! WTF!?! Just regular Blanton's.. not Gold or anything special about them.

It's totally a FOMO thing for me.. something to add to my collection and I refuse to pay more than retail for it.

Holy shit that's crazy. I've been pretty lucky finding it locally, I've grabbed 5(?) bottles of it within the last 8ish months and all were right at retail. I wouldn't pay anymore than that, regardless of the fomo

I follow this guy on IG and he posts pictures of people with their bottles and receipts on a daily basis getting it from $54.99 to $59.99... so I know it's out there.. and you confirming that just helps my resolve to not pay over $60
