His offices south of where I live (and where I believe he works) were one of the last businesses to shut down. They waited until a couple people were confirmed to have COVID and they had probably been walking around the offices for a while spreading it around. He was really trying to fight the virus with his defiance... yeah that doesn't work.

Considering the numbers that were going around that something like 60% of Americans don't even have $1000 set aside for an emergency, the amount of morons that Dave Ramsey can shepherd into his flock is pretty large. At the end of the day, I do appreciate him schooling those types of people.

While many of his philosophies are terrible if you are interested in maximizing your returns, those philosophies do work for the types of people who go "I still have money in my bank account, how can I spend the rest of it?" or "I don't have any money, that's okay I'll just open another credit card account"

    So basically if you are:
Maximize my returns - don't like Dave
Maximize my spending - should probably listen to Dave

There was a girl I knew who had some big post about Dave Ramsey on her FB a few years ago... saying how inspirational he was blah blah blah.

She lived in Nashville at the time and rented a 1 bedroom by the baseball stadium in an stupidly expensive area for probably $1400 a month.
    She also bought a Mercedes.
I'm not sure if she actually listened to any of his advice.
She ended up moving back to her little town in central Alabama after a few years.

Her cubicle drone income wasn't enough to support her instagram level lifestyle.

Yup, he's not targeting people throwing 5k at FUN for fun. I view it like driving.

Race Car Drivers - F1, NASCAR - It's their living. They drive for a profession (professional investors)

Idiot with a fast car - This is us! We are, after all, on a tacoma based forum. We care more about our vehicles than the average people who just care about an A to B machine. That's also us in this thread, we are not professional investors but we know a bit about it and make do.

Soccer Mom - Doesn't care if her minivan can go 0-60 in 8 seconds or 16, nor does she know that's a statistic. She just wants it to start and get from A to B. This is your average joe, they contribute to a 401k, maybe sock away some emergency funds, has an investment account through a financial advisor and they just kind of do some stuff, ish. Zero interest, zero involvement.

That run-down jaloppy - No savings, no investments, bad at driving, could collapse at any second - THIS is Ramsey's majority target audience, with some spillover to the soccer moms. He's trying to just make people safe by getting them out of the Jalopy and into something safe (emergency funds, investing long term, basic stuff)

    Nissan Juke Drivers - Hopeless.

This is a good explanation. I don’t have any money in my spending account because it’s all in the stock market lol

I'm trying to save like a madman before I close on my house - so this month it moved just about everything I didn't have spoken for through bills/rent and moved it into my high yield savings account, and that's on top of the usual 10% or so that I move into savings lol. Living that broke life for a month or so.

First thought on NRGU...I was looking at it because I like to bargain hunt the beat down 3x Bulls, but I'm holding off until about June 1st for a buy due to the TWENTY EIGHT Supertankers Saudi Arabia has inbound to the U.S. That's going to 'tank' our gas prices....that should beat NRGU down...and then I'm in. That's just my opinion...

Did he actually say "Mutual" funds? That's a shill move...INDEX funds I get...they are low cost and outperform nearly all managed funds.
VTI is basically a solid bet to mirror the dow...and not charge you the 1.1%

If you like to daytrade...I'm presently LONG on ZOM, a veterinary diagnostic machine/testing company. I've got 10K shares bought as low as $0.13...It's at $0.24+ today...buy at $0.17, sell at $0.22+ over and over...But I am long. I got a tip on it from someone who told me to by ZTS (Zoetis) when it was $30...I thought that was "expensive for a stock" (I was new) because they had a new miracle drug that vets were using for dog allergies...ZTS is $120+ now...guess who didn't buy at $30....
