I found a Leer topper for my 2nd gen long bed that I'm interested in that is color matched, in overall decent shape, and has thule tracks and racks on the top. Downsides, no windoors, and the front (cab facing) glass is broken. The frame for the glass is still there, but I can't tell if it was a slider or solid glass (picture attached). Not sure how they managed to break the front glass...

Anyway, has anyone had to replace the cab side glass before? I know the rear glass breaking is far more common, and thats what I could find threads on. Is this something a glass shop would be able to do relatively affordably? Can glass shops do front sliders or are they mainly just do fixed pane glass? Anyone have experience with this?

Guy is asking 300 for the cap and it doesn't include clamps. Depending on how much replacing the glass costs I'd consider offering less due to cost of clamps and glass replacement.

That front window is probably around $200. from a Leer dealer. They come as a pre assembled unit. Not that difficult of a job to replace.

Was able to get serial # from cap and quote from Leer dealer. $150 for slider, $90 for picture window (not installed). The dealer also mentioned the cab angle was different on the access cab vs double cab. I knew there was a difference between the single cab and AC, & DC 2nd gens, but I thought AC and DC caps for 2nd gens would work on either or. The one I'm looking at is from a DC, I have an AC.

This is news to me as well. I thought that with both 1st and 2nd gens that the regular cab is pretty much vertical, while the access and double cabs are angled.

Same here, and the eyeball test on those pictures shows that. They just suggested I test fit before I buy to make sure everything lines up and rear door closes. Anyone have any experience changing out windows on a cap? I don't think it can be that hard, but I've never done it before and idk if its one of those things that sound easy but are harder than they sound

Use a heat gun to soften the sealant, puffy knife.

That front window is likely an aluminum framed. There are sheet metal screws pulling the frame pieces together to sandwich the hole in the shell. It's super easy.
