What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

My expos squeek like a hookers motel room bed. Im used to it

 

I thought the front hanger bushing was the OEM one from OME and was considered "very good." Plus, installing something new there is more difficult that the shackle bushings so I decided to try this cheap, easy option first. If, in a couple of weeks, I am again embarrassed to be heard in public, what bushings do you recommend for the front?

 

Mine did too, well they clunked a lot. Loose leaves and rebound clips, made a ton of noise. Had to take most of the rebound clips off. Haven't had my Alcans installed for very long but they are completely silent so far.

 

Daystar and Energy suspension make bushings for the front/main eye, but honestly I agree that the OEM rubber bushing is probably your best bet for the front. The rubber just breaks down over time but when they are in good shape they don't squeak like poly bushings do.

The advantage to poly bushings is you can run the greasable bolts through them and I guess they're supposed to last longer than rubber, but man do they squeak if they aren't well lubed

I'm finally getting around to doing something about my windshield washer reservoir, it's been years since I pulled it out. I apparently cut two wires at the connector to the motor. The wiring diagram doesn't show anything anyone know what they're for? Motor works without them, it's just annoying me.

 

Could be for the dummy light sensor for low fluid.

 

my 04 has a sensor for low washer fluid, never seen it come on though. But if you have the light for it, it's probably for that.

 

I'll bet you're right, totally forgot about that.

 

Just look at the bottom of the tank to see if u have the sensor

 

Rebuilt front suspension. Added SPC light UCA's. Greasable poly LCA bushings. Tundra front brake lines with correct hard lines.
DIY alingment and tires and wheels.

 

Used to the expos squeeks or the hooker on the motel room bed?

I did BMW seats, and if I were to do over, I would remove the hump at the front of the seats. That would allow you to mount them a bit lower, and you would just bolt through the floor pan. It this basically, a double thickness in the floor, and there is nothing inside of it. What I found was that I feel too "tall in the saddle". And that seems to be a common complaint from others who have replaced seats with other models.

 

@mechanicjon what setting on the SPCs? I’ve been thinking about adding a set

 

Most people run them on the normal D setting, I've had mine on that one since they were installed almost 3 years ago. Haven't heard of many people that run them differently

 

I have them on C which is one back from center position. Gives it more ÷ caster.

 

My truck has always been low on caster numbers.

 

The one on the left with the float sensor was a 35.00 junk yard purchase
