Agreed, problem is values are continuing to drop and thus the problem current shoppers are stuck with.

Ahh the old we need to see it in person trick and they still offer you the lowest value once you're there. This was constant when I shopped in IL, I just would respond with, well I'm happy to send pictures along with the fact I was working with other dealers that didn't need to see my trade for their estimates. But ya its definitely something you may have to deal with, I did walk out a few times on this last deal once I showed up and they refused to budge. Then once they had already saw my trade I could negotiate via email and put dealers trade offers against each other along with new truck price, but you may have to waste some time at first letting them see it to get the ball in play.

Does anyone know once factories reopen if Dealers will be able to order one for you in specific package options you like from the factory ? If so how long you think the wait would be ?

Local dealer saw it in person and quoted 35,600. All others were over email. I sent a lot of very detailed pictures and offered to send videos if needed to get an accurate appraisal. They were all right around that $35-36k mark.

That's what I did. Sent a ton of detailed pictures. Some still didn't want to give me any real numbers, but those that did were mostly along the same lines. The dealer I bought from started with a range as well, but it was $37-39K. I sent a bunch of pictures and told them $39k would be the minimum for me and they said as long as the engine wasn't about to blow or something, that they could do it. They sent the buyer's order to me and that was that. They were easier to deal with than any of the others.

So Toyota doe not do special ordering, each dealer in a region has set allocations most regions will allocate trucks with certain options that they feel the region will sell / is desired, that's why when you get on Toyota's build site it forces you into some options based on your zip code and why you'll notice some areas don't have as many ORs or LED optioned trucks, etc. If you wanted something specific what would happen is the dealer would look at their allocations and allocations in the region and then locate one similar to what you are looking for, if it is not something that that region allocates then they would have to do a special request which needs approval and takes an additional few months. I'd assume once production starts back up they will be going back to what allocations where planned, etc. so depending on that the dealer you choose can reallocate or modify the allocation for you. But unlike Ford or GM you can't just build a truck how you want it, Toyota is more set up like mafia family style cartels (regions) and a bit of an odd egg in that matter, but saves on production costs, etc.

I never thought I would see this. Just got a quote back from a dealer for a TRD OR DCSB 4x4. MSRP $46kish. "Low price, upfront,... $46kish" They did me a solid by offering me the 0% for 60 months.

Yup. What Buffet said. I just “ordered” A somewhat rare package of an OR With absolutely no options and also with the black interior. Placed the order a week and a half ago. The estimated delivery date is June 25. I assume that could change depending upon if production starting again gets delayed longer.

Me too - If you don't mind driving; I got some good quotes from a dealer in Oregon earlier this week. Ended up getting one in Nebraska - jumping on a plane tomorrow. I've got the contact info for either if you want it.

Thanks for the idea, brother! Interesting you mentioned, I'm working on quotes in Idaho where a buddy of mine lives.

Congrats on your score in Nebraska! What was your % off MSRP? Without rebate? TIA!

New here; so maybe this has been done previously - but why isn't there a sticky with the dealers that in the past have been willing to offer great deals? I know alot of it depends on their current supply; time of the month, and a bunch of other factors. But, I know I'd rather start by contacting places that were willing to deal in the past.

MSRP was $37.7k; $31.5k including the $1750 rebate - so 12% off before rebate; 17.6% off after rebate?

    Ok so update.
Here's the update. OTD Is $41114, I'd put 10k down. If I do the rebate he'd offer 3.99apr. Or I do 0% for 60 months without rebate. Thoughts?

What are the dealers in OR and Idaho? From Northern California and not have much luck.

Kendall in Eugene gave me the best offer of any dealers that had OR access cabs in stock. Pederson in Boise said they would match any other dealer's offer. It was easier for me to fly from SF to Eugene so I went with Kendall.

Thats true, but toyota dealers will do special ordering for a customer interested in a certain model with certain options and colors. I went to a few dealers, and they told me so, just that it seems its a pita for them. Said it takes about 4-6 weeks to get the truck if willing to wait. On another note you'll always get a better deal buying off a dealers lot.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
When will the 2021's start being produced? Or have some already been made? I guess I have never paid attention to when production of one model year stops and the next begins? Fall?

That's an interesting question. I wonder if Toyota will just start producing 2021s when production opens back up later this month.
