I just dropped my truck off at the dealer to have the rear leaf tsb done. How much will the added leaf spring raise my rear end? Once it settles do I need to add a leveling kit to the front end or will it not be that obvious?

It'll have some rake to it but I don't mind it. It's a personal preferance. I'm still at stock height in the front and have the TSB leafs in the back.

After I had the TSB done I installed the 5100s in the front to level everything out

Does anyone know what they install with the TSB? I'm doing 5100's all around, just trying to figure out which AAL they use.

they don't AAL, they replace the 3 leaf pack with a 4 leaf pack, and depending on your model, they may change the front shoks to stock bilis, and an alignment

What did you set the front 5100's at? I get mine put in next week, and was thinking of putting them at 1.75

Couldn't tell you, but I have seen it in many of the rear TSB threads. Just search rear TSB and read through them. If I find it again I'll post a link.

I meant to say, i have seen where people have just added a leaf instead of getting the TSB, ot sure why though, the TSB is free under warranty.

My reason is that Toyota and my dealer are both being impossible. They won't acknowledge the problem, they just run my VIN# and say "Sorry no TSB's for the '11 Tacoma's at this point". It's bullshit and I'm sick of waiting. Just ordered the 5100's so was just thinking of replicating whatever they'd do as far as the leafs while I'm in there anyways.

Downsouth Motor Sports. with the Tacomaworld discount they were 172.00 shipped. Had to go to Toytec though for the bushings. I got my TSB at Boch.

OK. I think my service advisor at the Evansville IN store is not telling me the truth. He told me Toyota would no longer FIX the rear leaf problem, even though it was a recall item at one point. He said it ended about two years ago. Need help. Thanks

You're past the 3 year/36k mile warranty. That is why you got denied or are being given some misinformation.

Just because a new model year comes out doesn't mean the TSBs carry over immediately from previous years. The dealer is not telling you any lies. Everyone that has bought a new model year has had to wait for the actual documentation to include their year or call Toyota.

If you want to replicate the rear leaf spring TSB then get an AAL and Billies up front.

I had the tsb done. Then pulled my enclosed trailer across country for a move and had it hooked up to the truck for two days. It looks like it sits about where it was stock again. If you are going to haul with your truck you may end up with a front end high look after your leafs break in...
