    Oh yeah... congrats!!

I though all DCLB OR were made in Mexico? I just checked my vin on Toyota USA website and my OR is apparently a Sport??? I think because my truck is a Toyota Pacific vehicle it's reading the vin wrong...

Oof hope they would at least start the warranty and Toyota care on the day you picked it up.

I'm not sure with the DCLB I thought the pros were mostly from Texas but hey glad it's assembled here at least.

All of the Pros, and I think all manual transmission models, are made in Texas...until next year.

Anyone got any insight on when the next batch of green manuals might be shipped? I placed an order for mine back in January and my stealership still doesn’t know shit.

I was told by my dealer that because the Corona virus factories in China are shut down. Now We know Toyota’s aren’t built there. But they do get parts from there. Like there wheels and lug nuts. Can’t build a car without them. He said there dealer allocation forecast is scary

I am skeptical, they updated the the welds / some areas on late 18 and 19s but its still the same design which makes it susceptible to rot. As long as you stay on top of it its not an issue.

I do fluid film every tacoma, once or twice a year. Frame has always looked new.

Bahaha, they keep saying that. They said that for the first 2nd gens, then for 2013+, those got put on the frame campaign. They said nope we fixed it for the 3rd gens, guess what 2016-2017 are now a part of it. I know they did some additional stuff to the 2018's on the welds but a betting man says the trend will continue, its just the way the frame is designed that makes it susceptible. Hopefully this is fixed for the 2024 4th gen which will share a new platform with tundy and runner, but doubtful.

It isn't available on the Pro and I think the SR. It should be available on all others though - SR5, Sport, Off-Road, and Limited.

Thanks! I check Toyota's website (don't know why I didn't do that in the first place) and you're right.

Do you know where I can find cosmetic differences between the SR5, Sport, and Off-Road? I know that they've got different front grills and over-fenders, wheels, hood scoop, and chrome vs. color matched rear bumper. Is there anything else? Are the headlights and taillights any different?

    • Grills and wheels are unique for each trim basically (Sport and OR have the same grill for 2020, but I think the others are all different)
    • Overfenders are black on OR and Pro, all others are color-matched, SR doesn't have them at all
    • Hood scoop is Sport and Pro only
    • Chrome bumper is standard on all, you get the color-matched one if you get the Tech package (Limited and Pro have Tech package by default)
    • Headlights are all the same unless you get the LED upgrades, the Pro's LED have "TRD Pro" written in them that light up
    • Taillights are unique to each trim - I think SR/SR5 have all red ones, Sport/OR/Limited(?) have a chrome strip in them, Pro has a black strip in them. I think someone posted a comparison with pictures for them in the 2020 Parts List thread, if you can find it.
    • Limited has extra bits of chrome here and there like on door handles, around fog lights, etc.
    • SR doesn't have fog lights, Pro has Rigid Industries fog lights, all others have standard fog lights (which get upgraded to LED I believe if you get the LED upgrade package)
I think I hit most of the high points. Someone let me know if I missed or misrepresented any.

    Super helpful; thanks!

I get the chrome tail lights for the Limited trim but I think it was a horrible pick for the Sport and OR.

I think the Sport comes with color-matched bumpers even without the tech.

As a side note, I'm watching the original Evangelion for the first time. Pretty good so far and much more "adult" than what I had assumed.

Yeah the chrome in the taillights on the Sport and OR is just odd and ugly. Hoping to get a 2020 soon and those will be on my list to "upgrade".

Good catch on the Sport rear bumper, I never noticed that. Seems odd they would offer it on that trim but not others. I thought the color-matched all had the sensor holes so they only put them on Tech package trucks. If they have ones without the holes, it should be an option on any of them, if you ask me. But Toyota likes to have very specific configs without much room for personalization, so I guess that is just how it is. I also noticed (playing around with build tool) that the SRs can sometimes have color-matched rear bumpers too, or sometimes black ones, depending on cab size and config I think.

Enjoy Eva! It is my favorite show! I originally watched it in the late '90s and it was amazing and ground-breaking then. It established a lot of tropes that are more common now. So to a modern viewer it might not be as awesome and unique anymore, but hopefully you'll still like it. You say it is your first time watching the "original", so have you seen the Rebuild films already then?

No I haven't seen the Rebuilds; was just trying to distinguish between the original and Rebuilds.
