How fast will I get bored with this nitro mesh?
I know they are super low end but atleast it's not a simmons or cheap Yamaha.

I won't be using the preprogrammed sounds as I think I can go strait from the module into the comp and just use the drums as midi triggers for my ez drummer 2.

I'm a much better drummer than I am at using my fingers on a keyboard or trying to build/map an entire 4 min song out.

At that price point, it's much cheaper than the Roland setup. I've got a TD-8 setup with mesh snare. It's a blast to bang around on. You've likely got all the electronics for PA. I'd say go for it. Cannot comment on quality of that brand

Keep an eye out for a TD-3 or TD-6 Roland setup. Entry new I think we're about 5 hundy ish. They're like tacomas, modifiable as hell

Much cheaper than the $8k Roland V drums I'm looking at on Sweetwater.

I've been off the market for a decade or so...but I believe it. A TD-20 brain with top end mesh pads...would not surprise even at 8k. I started with TD-3 and upgraded the snare to mesh. Then picked up a couple nice cymbals. Then upgraded Brain to TD-8 for a couple hundy. But starter Roland should be about 5-6 hundy. It's a build as you go, and there's a real market for it

Found some td6, 9 and 11? Near me. 2 were caked with dust. Honestly, I hear the Roland are top notch stuff, just not visually appealing to me.

I found a bundled Alesis surge mesh with double base, throne, sticks and headphones for $650?

They are currently out of stock, but free shipping.
    On the email wait list.

Had a neighbor who was a music teacher. Showed me some stuff on his kit. Said I was picking it up quickly, but unfortunately wasn't interested in learning drums at the time. Wish I would have learned piano...

My grandmother's cousin on my dad's side. Us kids called him uncle Robert. Met the man a few times, super cool dude. That's how I learned my multiplication tables! Wish some of that talent had rubbed off...

    So.
Heres the most reason why I want an e-set.

Most of you guys know that have heard my songs on soundcloud, know that I build a song from the drum beat.
I play a beat with my fingers in EZ drummer 2, find a beat thats close and run with it. Same beat throught the song.

This is one of the 1st songs I did where I played along with the song with guitar sorta. And played the drum beat live with my fingers after the rhythem
track was recorded. You can here it, its not sterile like i usually do.

So, with an e drum, I think I could go back to playing guitar along with the song while recording, and then add the drums later with the e drum kit.

Sorry bout the shitty vocals and bass. This was probably one of the very 1st songs I did when i got my Tascam DP-02CF recorder.

I would guess this is prob around 2007 when I bought the unit.

    And this gem
This was pre Tascam DP02CF. It was also pre Fostex X-28H. (look that one up. I still have it in the closet)

This was recorded on a Sanyo jambox 2 ch recorder somewhere around 1983 to my knowledge. My buddy had a brand new Fostex X-28 that he just purchased not long after this.

Somehow, you could record a rythem track on the sanyo, play it back and record a second track over top of the 1st one.
Thats what happened with this track. Possibly being my 1st multi track tape althought I have some other jams
from the same sanyo ghetto blaster on a single left/right track.

Memory check... that isnt from the Sanyo 2 track but in fact the 1st recording from the Fostex X-28.
However... I did find original soundclips from the Sanyo. lol. Still dating back almost 30? years.

Its rumoured that The Beatles did thier 1st recording on something similiar.

So what have yall been working on in Quarantine(besides lusting after gear on reverb like me)?

I've been working mostly on reading. I can read music from playing trumpet, but I've been working hard at learning to sight read bass clef better during my time at home. Not that it's the most useful thing in the majority of stuff I do(Americana, rock, country), but just trying to be a more well-rounded type of player.

I usually only have to read bass guitar music a couple times a year when I back up a local community choir on jazz pieces or sometimes church music.

You guys working on any specific stuff?
