Made a little progress and was able to get the Pem-studs inserted into the camera mount this morning. They're not as flush to the surface as I was hoping BUT that's my fault because I opted for a 1/4-20 thread size so the head flange is a bit thick compared to the smaller thread studs. Should still look good once it's all painted and it blends in. That'll be tonight or tomorrow, gonna throw a couple coats of a matte or satin black on it.

One step closer to finally getting the camera installed!

That looks really good but are you sure you have those PEM studs all the way installed? Usually you need a good press for that.

This was 2 years ago. Also had a $70 off coupon. Like, $290 for the front and rears? Only gripe is that you have to hand wash them... first world problems.

Yeah, I thought the same thing actually. We have a dedicated PEM inserter press and he tried hitting it multiple times even to drive it deeper only to have it start bowing the plate slightly (had to kinda bend it back into shape). The only thing I can think of honestly is just that it's stainless and it's 0.08" thick, it just didn't have a lot of give to allow the PEM to drive deeper like in a thinner sheet or a different material like aluminum. I would've loved to have it more flush but I can't complain for having it done for free here at work.

Just another reason why on a mass produced 3d printed version it would look better because that attachment point can be hidden a bit better.

It's a shame that you don't have a larger garage. I bet parking with the truck standing on end like that is challenging.

I'm surprised it even fits, new house is bigger than the last one, and there is some space on drivers side. I can get in and out without any issues, just looks tighter than it is.
Once we unbox everything (no rush) we should have a bit more room.

He might have a garage, but he might not have a river nut tool or bed extender. Don’t be envious of what you don’t have, be thankful for what you do have. :poking:

EDIT: We really need a leg pulling emoji
