I noticed the cable is sold-out in the store. Link to an alternative?

When 2.0 drops will we have access to those ovtunes and previous ovtunes in vFtuner right away? Or will these be released later on?

Ok. Maybe do a zoom meeting or something due to the Rona. I’m no expert by any means. Just been clicking around in the software every few days as Mat releases nuggets here and there.

I must have just missed the cut ordering on the 1st of May. Tactrix closed and isn't shipping until May 11th (Monday)... But it's cool, now 2.0 will be out.. I'd have to have waited anyway!

It would be a really short meeting. About all I know how to dig out are the alternator settings at this point.

I'm just looking for a bit of clarification with regard to "Keys" for vFTuner....

I thought I recalled seeing weeks ago that vFTuner software was not tied to a specific notebook. However there is still apparently a .reg file "key" to flash from vFTuner.
If you already have a p5f key, they are one in the same and you can flash from vFTuner. But we can't move that p5f key to another notebook, so we are still tied to one notebook (I think) for flashing.
For someone who has vFTuner only with no p5f, does the flash .reg key still come from the European Connection?
Should it be possible to use two notebooks, one for vFTuner and one for p5flash while still being able to flash from vFTuner?

For those of you that have asked. Below is a short description of how to see the alternator changes for AGM batteries. OVTune posted a test tune in this thread. If you open both the test tune and the stock tune and compare them, you can see what you would need to change in a new tune to alter the alternator charging (pun intended). I'm assuming that you've already got vF installed and running, and downloaded the tunes available for your ECU. I'm also assuming you know how to open the files, so I'm not going through that.

Images attached. Red box in lower left shows the 2 tunes I have open. Green box shows the alternator maps available to tweak. Brown box shows the shitty stock tune settings. I suppose in this case the values are not shitty for a standard battery, but are shitty for AGM, either way, it gets a brown box. Orange box shows OVTunes changes for AGM. You can keep opening different maps and just drag them lower in the viewer to line them up side by side. In this case, there are 8 "maps" that would need to be altered to alter your alternator charging (puns are good). I'm not showing all the alternator maps in my image, if it's not showing it's because the values were unchanged between Mat's tune and the stock tune.

Thanks, I was reviewing these as well and may try to make small tweaks to the first map to see how that increments/decrements the charging voltage. I suspect some of those provide additional potential, while others target hitting a specific voltage. But I'm only guessing as I don't know their relationship to each other.

DISCLAIMER: I don't know that the changes made in the example I shared are "good" or "correct". All I'm showing is what was changed in the test tune provided that others verified to provide the 14.4+V needed to charge an AGM battery. The settings shown could melt your alternator for all I know. I haven't ran these settings as I don't want to run the stock tune since the new 2.0 beta is so fun (even with a few issues that are being resolved). I'm just showing how I looked at the software to see what was changed.

    Thank you for providing that.
Doing things like this, taking small steps, testing, seeing the result and moving forward is how things get accomplished.

Very unlikely to damage anything as long as you don not try to crank out more than the stock max limit.
The ECU has a test mode you can put it in and make it produce a constant 14.8v to verify the alternator works.

Definitely not suggesting your tweak will fry an alternator. My intent was to remind others on TW I’m not an authority on any of this. Just another monkey mashing the keyboard.

no worries, didn't take it that way. The disclaimer is a good idea.
We do plan to offer some better instructional material once we get the MT files released.
