I like mine this way too. I want 4th locked up for climbing mountain passes as long as possible and to stay out of unlocked(unlockable) 3rd to reduce tranny temps, high RPM fuel consumption, etc.. The stock tranny tune would hunt like a mofo on my "test hill", too, and drive me nuts. Your tranny tunes keep getting better and better, nd4spdbh. Keep up the good work!

I drove the truck for the first time in 2 weeks today. A bit of handyman work and errands in town. Had a ton of tools, groceries, less than 200 miles on the new bigger tires and a ferocious 25mph head wind so will need more miles to verify, but V13 seems solid so far. Thx again!

    My shit is all stock.
I played with it every which way. Positive and negative PSI is all I could muster. Seems to work fine for datalogging. Also, Justin seems to really like AFR readings in lambda. Appease him.

Well, new tune loaded successfully after almost a year on the last tune along with @nd4spdbh v13 until he works up something super spicy for a few of us.

And @JustDSM check your email. I believe the 2016 4Runner read was successful :spy:

It was!! Engine stuff was pretty well defined, unfortunately no transmission stuff yet. I recall others having difficulty with the trans side on these. Let me know if you want me to start working on it :)

I'd ask that anyone with a 2TR who has a MPVI2 or perhaps someone with access to a 2TR truck, attempt a read. It's possible we might be in business. @BassAckwards

Let’s do it!!! I guess I’ll find out how many credits it needs when we try to flash. Then when trans stuff comes available @nd4spdbh can start to work his magic. This will be more progressive progress than the truck that did everything at once.

:spending: The wife’s smile when I said we can tune it is worth it. Also we’ve been waiting like 6months to be able to

Spicy will be coming, just have to find the time... work has been a shit show.

I have a hunch trans tuning will be a bit more complicated on the 4 runner as it likely has similar logic to 3rd gen taco's, but we shall see.

4runner has as separate MCU for the 4Runner. Can't even be accessed as of yet. It's like some of the most newer Fujitsu controllers. Nobody has cracked them yet.
Can't even crack the CUWs. There are very limited trans controls in the primary MCU

I bet work has been sucky. Hopefully summer brings a little ease. And yeah, first impressions on v13 trans are it is great, for most people and probably daily driving. But I have to agree with @12TRDTacoma that downshifts could be much quicker.

As for the 4Runner we will wait and see what comes available for trans stuff. For now we’ll flash @JustDSM initial tune tonight and get some logs over the weekend. I’m excited to see how Sammi likes finally getting a tune

@JustDSM it'd probably be a good idea to update to the latest VCM beta right?

Absolutely! These *unofficial* supported vehicles will be supported in the Beta long before they're in the official release, which at that point they'd probably already have announced official support for that given platform.

Ok I got the latest beta downloaded and installed. What exactly would you like me to do? I was able to connect to the vehicle once I opened VCM scanner

    1. Open up the VCM Editor
    2. Ensure you have WiFi/Hotspot
    3. Turn ignition key to "ON"
    4. At the top center of the VCM Editor, you'll see the little computer chip icon with a green arrow (Read Vehicle). Click that.
    5. You'll get a pop-up window. Click on "Read"
    6. You may get a pop-up or two telling you that your ECU is not readable, etc. etc. Thats normal, as it's describing the virtual read. Just click ok through those and if it's supported you'll be prompted to save the read file. If you're able too, save it, and email that to me and I'll confirm if it's good to go or not.

Thanks for the instructions! It is not prompting me to save the file, it is only reading it and then this is what it's showing

What a shame. Hopefully they provide support at some point!I emailed Chris back in early february this year and he said they hadn't made any more progress at that time. Fingers crossed they pick it back up one day
