Man... My 2004 TJ is my baby. Needs some work for sure. Need new tires, rims, suspension, fix some body rust(both fender flares) and may need to do some frame work eventually. It's off the road at the moment but need to figure out if I will just turn it into a dedicated trail rig or not.20200507_190812.jpg

I believe this is the 2011 to 2017 campaign. Regardless, I'll probably go in when I'm due for my 40,000 mile oil change and be done with it. I'm sure they'll squawk at my FF, but as long as they sign off that they did something and I end up protected for 12 years, I'm good to go.

That's just it, mine was 06-10 so I can't speak to the more current one but I know mine provided the 2 inspections..had to get the first one and fail or pass/get CRC in order to be eligible for the second. Better safe than sorry.

Not that we didn't make out big time, but better to cover thy bases versus get a surprise like we got in 2008 when they sat her down at Copeland and said "your truck is a death trap" to Cupcake.

I just transplanted my Impatiens to their window boxes, and now the forecast for tomorrow morning is snow, so I've got to bring them back inside tonight

So in relation to the new CRC campaign. 5gallons does 4-5 trucks. They actually clean the inside of the boxed frame rails and only coat the interior of those. So they did change it a little bit. Got at Boch Toyota South was very friendly and pretty knowledgeable. Understood my concern with weight, he tows a 32ft trailer (I assume he drives a Tundra). Wasn't certain how woolwax would react but said have it done so you're at least covered then do whatever you want lol.

I know you told me before, how heavy is your camper? My MIL is selling her camper and got an inquiry from someone with a Tacoma. They were asking the classic 'can I tow this' question. I told her to only respond with the stated weights of the camper and let them figure out themselves. GVWR for her trailer is 6,900 lbs so a little over zealous for a Tacoma in my opinion, but doable if you properly plan your weights out.

I know that I should take off my skid plate trio, but do they want the sliders off too?

I really don't know, that is why I was asking. I really don't want the hassle.

Trailer fully loaded would be 6600. But empty is 4600 and with our load it should be between 5-5500.

They are replacing and adding frame plugs. So sincemsince are off for a repaint, I'll leave it off for the service.

Update added to my thread about trail damages

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/toyota-says-i-have-lots-of-damages.665284/#post-23319451

Long of the short, they wanted to replace the frame and there's no damages that affect the driveability. I'm keeping the truck, not replacing the frame/totaling it, not fixing it via insurance, and will be trading it in PROBABLY sooner than initially intended, or drive it for 20 years and then make it a dedicated trail rig.

I might wait a few years, trade it in, and get a jeep to trash in the trails alongside a normal commuter I can get to work with on Monday :) (That may be a tacoma...)

Similar to adding a bedliner. It adds weight, but nothing really significant overall.
