Anyone else find this so far? My paint seems so soft and scratch prone it's unreal. My '14 wasn't this bad.

See if you can see the scratches on the hood after my windshield replacement yesterday...

Just kinda bummed, not even abuse that's scratching it, not even a good story!

I can see some scratches at the front of the hood, is that what you are talking about?

I agree about the paint being super soft, but nowdays thats how it is, especially with japanese vehicles. Domestics are a bit better but still.

I would recommend getting ceramic coating especially with black paint, it does make a difference. Mine is 2 years old and the paint still looks great, but im very anal when it comes to my vehicles. All except one were black vehicles, so i learned how to maintain them.

Even if you just take your clean finger and rub it on the clean paint lightly, it will leave swirl marks, i couldnt believe it haha!

Get that ceramic coating if you havent done it yet, good luck man!

I did it myself, so cost me 70$ and 5 hours of my time. Came out 90% perfect, pretty good for first time.

Shops charge anywhere from $750-1500 over here, depending on the condition of your paint. Some shops will BS you about applying 5 or more coats, thats why the price is so high. Dont believe that, they do 2 max.

Those are the horrors of buying a black vehicle. I have a 2nd Gen with Black Sand Pearl paint and it isn’t that scratched cause I’m constantly maintaining it with wax and sealants. Like someone mentioned above, a ceramic coating is your best bet to keep your truck looking fresh all the time. My brother ceramic coated his 2019 at a local shop for $1k using Opticoat Pro+

My paint is already so fucked. Between door dings, rock chips and pinstripes, I might as well wrap it
