I was a big fan of the new silverados when I was truck shopping. The inside is super nice, they ride great, and the power is fantastic! I just couldn't justify getting a full size truck, and thus ended up with the taco.

I'm 5'11" and I ride a large. That being said I have a super long torso and reach, but short legs. I ride a large yeti and I could almost go xl. A medium feels tiny to me.

5’11” always seems to be on the fringe of two sizes

Yeah I’m with the other guys, 5’11” and I’m usually a large, you’re probably in between sizes haha. I think with the new evil following I’m a medium according to the size chart though

And this right here is why height means very little with modern mt bike geometry. Torso length / wingspan / leg length, heck even neck length can make a bike feel different to different people. My best suggestion is ride many bikes, and when you find one that fits well and rides how you like, start basing your changes off those initial measurements.

At your height, average build to long legs I would start in the med-large range, but an xl would not be out of the question if long in the torso as a very rough baseline.

My advice is ride a few bikes. Otherwise it’s such a guess. Seems like every brand has a different cockpit. 5’11 Santa Cruz large is perfect. The Santa Cruz medium I felt like a clown lol

This is my dilemma. But trek has the M/L so I think I am going to go with that. We shall see.

Depends on your riding style. I’m 5’ 7” so between a S and M on most brands, always ridden a Medium or a Large though. I need room to move around.

My Santa Cruz has a “chip” in the rear geometry that you can flip to make the lower. That might help you get the right fit. I’m not sure if others have it.

Well it’s looking like it’s going to be a brand new fuel ex 8 in size M/L. I was on a 3k budget. And I really wanted the gx drivetrain. Yeah I have always ridden sram. And trek is too convenient to bike shops everywhere for warranty work. I move EVERY 3 years. Can’t wait for that to stop. Thanks for the input guys. I’m going to order it tomorrow or Monday.

I'm 5'10" and found that there's no definitive size for this height/build. Some Medium, some Large, and all completely dependent on the geometry.

Test riding is the only correct answer.

That's to make the bike more slack and downhill oriented. It'll subtly change reach and stand over numbers, but it'll really change head tube angle, seat tube able, and bottom bracket height. I put mine in the lower position for bike park days, but leave it higher if I'm doing much pedaling.

Nice buy! I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam and just got a Roscoe in M/L fwiw. Didn't have the chance to demo many bikes due to availability/corona, but so far it's feeling good.

I just flip the chip on my bike from "low" to "lower" and it changes the way the bike rides quite a bit! I'd like to get a coil shock for bike park days as well, but I don't have the coin for that...

Word. I’ll start in high as thats ideal for my local trails. Probably switch to low for the gnar gnar in pisgah.
