Currently waiting on a local group buy to fill up then I'll be an owner of a new front bumper. :fingerscrossed:

Is everyone running the fronts with frame reinforcements?

I have SOS front frame plates and relentless front bumper/frame reinforcements. The front mounting area is extremely flimsy and it kind of sketches me out haha

I was gonna pick up the SOS plates. Was eyeballing the C4Fab brackets but they are pricey.

EDIT: Just got on Relentless' site and didn't see the frame brackets. Must of been discontinued.

Yeah my buddy has the c4. The additional reinforce they provide on the bottom is a good reason for their pricing. The bracket wraps around and mounts to the swaybar mounts which I feel would increase rigidity and support vs just the one bolt at the back for the relentless reinforcement.

For a time we sold these separately as other bumper manufacturers weren't offering them. We do still include them with all of our bumpers

coastal is a trash company. Not necessarily the product itself but the owner is a complete lier that doesn’t stand behind his product or his word.

Same Brandon is who I've been talking to and has promptly replied to all of my emails. Even the one I sent at 4AM asking for instructions to peruse while I wait. Had them sent to me in less than 10 minutes.

The bumper was shown to be one piece in the rear on the website. With the metal being bent (Wich many DIY companies send you pre bent metal). I liked that because I didn’t want to do 6 feet of welding. That’s just a long ass weld with the chances of getting warped is high. What I got was not what was advertised in the pictures on his website. Bummer but not a too big of a deal. More aggravating than anything. Owner of coastal agreed that it was misleading advertising on his end. 2nd was he didn’t know that there was a mid model change to the frame in 97 and he designed it for a 95-97 frame. It wouldn’t fit because he leaf springs brackets had been moved. (At this time his replies were days to weeks apart) I’m probably the only one that had that issue. Because of me he did update. Every hole that he pre drilled did not line up. He refused to work with me on a partial refund due to how many things were messed up. I had to take parts to a local water jetting company to fix his mistakes. Didn’t even want to refund me for that. I ended up going after him for false advertising and he told the investigators that I was probably in over my head and messed up the project. (I have been welding for 15 years) That is a blatant lie. Luckily for me I had kept all of our emails where he admitted to being at fault twice. Two things I hate are liars and thieves. Brandon is both in my opinion.

Because my issue was unique with the mid model change I still advocated his company. It wasn’t until he lied that he lost all of my respect. It’s fine that he made mistakes. Everyone does, but own up to them make it right with your customers. Do not lie.

How was it worded that made you think it was anything but a bunch of plates to weld together? Guess I'm not following.

It was how it was pictured. You could clearly tell in the picture that it was a bent price of metal. It was never worded in a way that specifically said it was a bunch of flat pieces. When I asked him about it he said “ oh yeah the pictures online are of a solid bent piece” the guy was local to him and he doesn’t shop bent metal. at the time it was such a new product he didn’t have any other photos on other trucks. That wasn’t the biggest issue I had though. The bigger issue was it literally did not fit my truck

Assuming you mean the center section, step plate to 45 angle?

I welded up one for my wife's GX about 8 months ago. I used a 4x inovations hinge for the swing out, the setup that came with the kit wasnt stout enough for my application. It was a very cool experience all in all.

I am going to redo the swing on mine with 4xinnovations hinge as well. How do you like the hinge? I’m guessing it opens and closes very smooth with the bearings

you wouldn’t happen to have photos of the insides of the hinge do you?

That really sucks and I'm sorry to hear your experience. It just seems to be a matter of miscommunication and other varying factors. I hate for you to be the guinea pig but I'm sure he hasn't had any issues after your ordeal.

How does the bumper look now?

Right. Being the guinea pig sucked. But it was just more disappointed that he really didn’t seem to care all that much. That’s the biggest issue. It doesn’t look bad. I don’t like how he designed the swing outs but that’s just finer details. Building a new swing soon.

It works great! Super solid. I just took it apart to clean and add new grease a few weeks ago. There was a little rust formation but nothing bad. I dont have any pictures of the insides, but they are quality parts.
