What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I got a letter a couple of days ago that had a tear off portion that goes in the back of the owner’s manual that says up to 12 years from in service date they will take care of frame damage from rust.

 

I’m going to have to inquire about this, because I have seen where quite a few 3rd gen owners saying they have also received these letters.

A guy locally makes them, I had it installed at an Audio Shop. One of the only ones that fits with window motor now. Had to relocate some things to underneath the seats (relay and some other computer system that was there).

 

Picked up my step boards last weekend and finally got a chance to install them today on my lunch break!

 

I've never really modded an interior, but I'll admit the MESO rings, red starter button and red vinyl Tacoma letters really dressed it up!

Installed the MESO Red Start/Stop button, black surround ring and the black rings for the Climate Control Knobs. Now the 4WD selector sticks out....

What is the purpose of this "major" modification?

 

Well...due to hyper flashing and my lack of electrical knowledge, I decided to take off my Spyder taillights. Long story short; I didn’t have a single halogen bulb on my truck, inside or out, and with my taillights hyperflashing, it caused my Spyder headlights to not actuate my sequential signals. I added resistors to the taillights assuming it would fix the issue but it didn’t. So I made the decision to sacrifice my taillights for stock ones from a 2018 with halogen bulbs in hopes it would work. Well, it did. So I guess I’ll be selling my Spyder taillights. At the end of the day, I’d rather have something that’s functional than something that looks cool. Here’s an updated pic. .

 

Would you even hear about it if they did?
