    Hi all,

I called my local Toyota dealer and they said it was $775 for the exhaust. I'm seeing it online for $688 at other Toyota sites but have to pay quite a bit for shipping.

They said the job is 3 hours and would cost $329 to install it.

Is it just me or does that seem like too much?

I would just install myself maybe but I think it wouldn't be covered under warranty if I did that or would void the factory one.

Stock AF. My 68 Bronco and 2000 2.5RS get the mods.
Book time is book time, that's what you'll pay to have it installed. It's two bolts and hangers but only you know your abilities.

I can't comment on the actual pricing but if you buy it, just replace it yourself. The process takes maybe an hour or less (only because it's a single piece and you gotta wiggle/twist it out and in), they're gouging you with the pricing/timeframe. That said, it shouldn't void the warranty if it's just a cat-back as there's nothing after the connection point, plus it's an OEM part.

My buddies and I use to do garage day where we all got together at one of our houses to install parts or fix/maintain our Acuras. It wont void your warranty. So grab a buddy and a few beers and get cracking.

Swapping a catback exhaust is literally a 20 minute job while lying on the ground.

Just watch some videos online and you can do it yourself with basic tools. It's one of the easier things to swap out.

I guess the only reason I asked the dealer is I thought if a certified dealer doesn't do the work that it will void some aspect of the warranty.

Is this true or no? If not I'd totally do it myself.

I'm not sure about the warranty, but contact some local reputable muffler shops. I just had a local shop install the TRD Performance Exhaust onto my '17 Sport and it only took the guy 45 mins to remove my stock exhaust and put the new one on. He was probably taking his time, too.

It does not matter who installs it. It will not void the truck warranty.

I've had experience with this that some dealers will try to blame it all on you and not the car even when nothing was modded at all lol. Eventually in this case I ended up winning that scenario. So hopefully Toyota dealers wouldn't be like this as well.

I understand your concern here, but it is a cat back exhaust we are discussing, not some other more complex system. It would be very difficult to screw up install to the point of needing a warranty claim.

    A few.
If you don't think a $700 exhaust will last 12 months without any problems, should you be buying it in the first place?

I did my TRD CAI and Pro exhaust in an hour. Didn't even jack up the truck. I paid $750 for both, my Pro exhaust was ordered for someone who didn't pick it up, it was for a dclb so I got a great deal. The exhaust was easy, plus I'm lifted a little so the exhaust was super easy, 2 bolts and a few hangers.
