I took it as you referring to those who can go back to work, but choose not to for the higher benefits. :notsure:

Anyone that is in your situation should be on unemployment, until you're offered the opportunity to go back to work. Part of your salary goes into that program, so you should be able to draw from it when you need to.

    Unemployment is not welfare.

maybe places will have trouble getting employees back because they don’t want to get sick for $12.00 an hour?
Don’t lump everyone into the “mooching” category.

Take away the extra $600 a week and most of those people would go back to work. It's not a "I fear for my safety" issue. It's an I make more money sitting on my ass issue. Luckily, that extra fed money only lasts 13 weeks currently. Let's see what happens to unemployment numbers in weeks 14 and 15. Any guesses? lol

No problem with people not wanting to go back to working at restaurants yet. They may feel unsafe doing so, and there is no certainty their job will last. A week in, the restaurant may not get very many customers, and need to cut employee hours or reduce staff. There’s still plenty of uncertainty out there. People think it’s fine to protest companies requiring face masks to help protect their employees, but we demand someone return to waiting tables? Thousands of dollars were handed out to millions of people who didn’t lose their jobs. These people are no more moochers than anyone who didn’t lose income that accepted stimulus money

I can see this years tax return now. Right under:

"Check this box if you'd like to donate $3 dollars to the presidential campaign fund"
"Check this box if you'd like to return the economic stimulus funds you recieved"

Which box do you think gets checked more? lol

it’s not like I can go get a job at Denny’s or McDonald’s right now to make $400 less than unemployment.

with 75% of the state shut down, what in the fuck do you recommend?

stop being so blinded by your bias.

Those who lost their jobs, also received increased unemployment benefits. The stimulus checks were to cover increased expenses during the nationwide shutdown and keep the economy flowing.

I am reading this debate and I have a simple answer:

If you’re scared, wear a mask.

If you’re super scared, stay home.

Let everyone else live a normal life.

    It really is that simple.

I'm far from blinded or biased. It's fact. People who make more on UI then they make working will tend to stay on UI even if they can go back to work.

I collected for 5 weeks and just went back to work Monday. My boss decided to shut down when this started for the "safety" of his crew. I make more working then I did on UI. If I made less working then UI I might have not returned to work. See what my point is? See the lack of bias? Take your emotions out of your responses and actually read what I wrote.

take heed my friend, pay attention to
Virginia as an example of what’s coming your way.

Valid points, and there are many reasons like that, that I don't live in Oregon anymore.

When I get that call, I’m the first one in line back. Don’t assume I’m reacting on laziness, my emotions are there, and I sure as fuck want to get back to work.
