I am currently looking at a stage 3 suspension kit as the weight is quickly increasing on my truck. I am looking at the stage 3 from King, Fox, and Icon. Which is best to go with, they seem to be similar prices. Any other brands I'm possibly missing out on? I'll post the kit links below. My truck is mostly a daily driver but I like to take it off-road out here in Colorado. I want something that can handle off roading with extra weight and drives pretty good on road.

I went with Fox, they are all good options. Do a little searching to find the differences here

Although i have not experienced with either Fox or King, i have read good reviews on both of them.. I have the ICON system in my truck and love it.. i believe all three systems offer a heavier rate coil to handle heavy loads.. The price maybe a bit different from system to system, but all three good quality so can't go wrong with either.. my 2 cents..

I went with Radflo since I know people with rock bouncers and hill assault vehicles having them and saying they love them.
Went to check them out and saw they do Tacomas as well.
They do have about a month of lead time because they are built to order. That also means they will custom tune/vavle your suspension to your specification, driving/terrain, and preference without the added price. They are not really used a lot in Tacomas so you won't get a lot of reviews, but so far, they feel great. Exactly how I wanted the ride to feel. My third set of suspension cause I didn't like stock or the next Bilstein I got which is why I didn't even think about Icons due to being digressive like the Bils.
It was a bit cheaper than kings that had the same "specs", but mine was custom tuned.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either one of the higher end brands. I would definitely go with a tuned one though, so if you are going fox, icon, or kings go with Accutune.

I just bought the King 2.5s with resi’s (25001-121/119). I think Foxes are slightly more expensive. I think Foxes are better valves to handle minor continuous bumpy stuff. But the Kings are better for that real off-rowdy stuff

I went with King because they have pretty much been the industry leader forever....and I thought they looked cooler. Lol

Second the recommendation for radflos. Customer service is top notch and ive loved mine since i put them on. Cant say i can compare them to anything but icons as thats the only other coilover setup ive driven but I definitely give them the leg up over icon stuff for what it's worth

What set up do you have on yours and how high of a lift are you at?

I’m 100% King biased after having leaking Icons and squeaking Fox’s. Three different sets of Kings now with no issues.

    Stuff, things, this, an ADS
There’s lots of options out there ADS/Fox/King/Icon/Falcon/Radflo/Elka. Lots of good brands. I run ads and have been very happy

I cranked mine to 2.5" lift.
2.5's resi + compr adj. w/ 650 lbs. Haven't had any issue, but I wonder if it's too much preload on the radflos.

Time will tell! I love the idea of more lift but the other part of me doesnt want to have any worries about more wear on cv axles etc so practical won for me

Check out my latest thread on the third gen forum. Just installed the Fox 3" Ultimate lift kit. Still on sale on Bilsteinlifts.com

Here is what I found while deciding between the fox adjustable kit (that I have) or the king complete kit (non adjustable reservoirs) http://www.offroad-engineering.com/foxvsking.html

The fins on the boots don't touch at 2.5". At least on my Taco. If I crank it anymore then it will. Not stiff at all so I'll probably run it like this, if it starts wearing out the boots, I may go down to 2". I was running 1.75" on my last suspension, but I upgraded to the Icon RXT leaf which gave the rear end 2.25" of lift.

I think my next set of tires im going to go with skinnies 255/85. At that point ill crank it up to clear the taller tire a bit more. Ill be asking you if youve had any issues before i do though

I have 33s (285/75) tires. 1.75" was pretty tight and would barely rub at full compression. Just let me know and I will keep pictures of worn stuff or issues when I find them. I did replace the needle bearing when I lifted to 1.75" the first time so that should be good.

Wait. So you had rub with 285/75s on a 1.75” lift? Crap. Did you get UCAs yet? I was hoping to go 1.5” and then do control arms later so I can go up to 2” - 2.25”

Yes, but that was with stock UCA and very very slightly. I couldn't even tell until I went under there and saw some rub marks or really pay attention to it with the radio off when I am about to go to full compression. I also did CMC and hammered the pinch weld before I went up to 285/75s.

With the 1.75" lift and stock UCA: I installed bumper and winch which sagged it to only about 1.25" of lift. At that point, I was rubbing just by making tight turns so I don't think 1.5" can clear it.

When I swapped my suspension to the new one w/ the 2.5" lift, I also changed out the UCA for aftermarket ones. So maybe changing out the UCA, you can clear the tire w/ only 1.5" lift?
Honestly, with 33+ tires, you just have to slowly work up from cheapest to most expensive thing to replace and see what works. Not all tacos are the same. For example; I have a buddy that has a 2017 (I have 2018), same trim and everything, but when he was stock he sat at like 20.5" Hub to fender and I was 21" hub to fender stock. Some people can clear it with not much effort, most can't.

King is among the best. Fox is a decent option. I wouldn’t run Icon if they gave me a set.

Also keep in mind that these “stage kits” are kind of a marketing thing, (e.g King doesn’t make a stage kit) and you end up paying more.

Also make sure you compare kits apples to apples. That icon setup has 2.0 rears and non-res coilovers. They are basically charging you the same for less shock that will likely leak anyway.

Icons are also Digressive which is not ideal for offroad while fox and king are linear.

If I had to pick between your options it would be the King setup but you can order all that for cheaper and probably use the money saved to upgrade to a full pack from Deaver or something.
