    I've had my 99 for a few months now ,and shes come a long way. This is what she looked like when I first got her for $3000.[​IMG][​IMG]

    My list of mods is pretty short so far
    99 tacoma trd 4x4 2.7 5 speed $3000
    Had rip in drivers seat replaced $80
    Replaced wore out factory billies w/ tec-one coilovers that I purchased from Teddygrahms $250...rear is still stock and terrible
    Got some 255/75/17 BFG KM's mounted on stock chevy steelies $750
    Had to have 1.5" wheel spacers to make that combo work $150
    Currently building .25" aluminum diamond plate skids I'm making them from drops I got for free!!! hopefully pics this weekend[​IMG]

    I got my skid plates roughed out, pretty nice. No camera with me, so maybe friday before pics.

    Finished cutting out the skids last night, and bolted em up this morning for a test fit. Still have to take them off to debur and polish. what do ya think?[​IMG]

    I wassn't so sure about it myself, but its thick and free. maybe I should have used the smooth side

    new 31x10.5 tires, mag wheels, drilled rotors, new sound, and a cb.
    I would powder coat the skid. With the dimond side down it may be a little "grippy" on stuff.

    Thanks for the comments guys.I think im gonna paint them charcoal, along with my wheels and grill center. If I scrape the paint its easier to redo than powdercoat.[​IMG] got me a thrush welded muffler $40

    Some thoughts on my diamond plate: This stuff has been used for years as a non-slip surface for people to walk on. Probably not the best thing to use for a skid plate. My thinking at the time was that those little treads wouldn't hang me up, but in hindsight, when offroading every little bit helps. It's the details that make an ordinary rig, a great rig. So I am thinking of covering these with 1/8" blac[​IMG]k hard plastic, like a cutting board material. Let me know what you think.

    I think that would be good. I've got a good friend that has that cutting board material under his for all of his skids and they take a beating and are standing up great. looks good too..
