Call me dumb but for my gold truck should I order the mango color? As in, the chart says to order the mango color for a gold truck. I assume that means the letters won't be black? Maybe I'd be better off just ordering from cboy808

As others have said, jamesdeancreations is the best place to go. The guy uses factory specifications to replicate the decals, and his installation instructions are good. I replaced the logos twice on my old 96 Tacoma; once when I replaced the tailgate, and a second time when I had the truck repainted and they sanded off the logo. Here is a video I did to document how to replace the logo. I think you will find it helpful!

Thanks! I paid $1700 and it was well worth it. I had meticulously maintained that truck since I bought it new in November of 1995. It looked new inside and out. But, the paint was oxidizing and it got to the point where I could not stand it anymore, so I HAD to paint it. Funny thing, a year and a half later, when I first saw the 3rd generation Tacomas, I ended up selling my beloved 96, after I had it painted! It paid off when I sold the truck in April of 2019 though! Anyway, here is another video where I show the "before and after" of the truck when I had it painted.

    that is a good price!
my local quotes for a complete paint job at the body shop to 'properly fix' some still minor chips behind mud flaps, gravel rash under rockers, etc. is well north of $5k, and maybe close to $8k :(
i live in one of the salty winter regions so its a massive OCD issue with keeping the body panels clean as i can

for $1700 i should drive the 1700 miles to sunny CA and get that done!

I was quoted $10,000 at a shop that actually would take the whole truck apart, and paint it as though it was on the assembly line! I mean, ok, that is probably the best way to do it, but $10,000 was way too much for me! As you can see, I think I did ok with the result!

Unfortunately, since I do not have the truck anymore, I cannot go out there an measure them, but they were what was standard on the 96 Tacoma. I made sure to measure exactly, how far down from the top and from the sides, to place the decal. The only one I slightly modified as far as placement, was the Tacoma LX on the lower right rear, which I moved it up a little, which is described in the video. James Dean Creations does an excellent job of recreating the original logos exactly, in whatever color you need, and/or whatever size for your vehicle. If you go to his site, you will be asked to enter the year and model, and it will bring up the exact codes for your year. So look on the door jam of your truck in order to make sure you get the proper color code.

It's amazing how well/long these OEM letters have held up (24 years). I wonder how long replacements will last?

Do these vendors also have the factory TRD graphics for the side of the bed? I have an 02 with the TRD Off Road decals on the back side of the bed, going to repaint later this year and was hoping to replace them (they are in not great shape now so likely not salvageable without trashing the new paint job). Thanks
