Part of the allure for me is the planning, or just not planning, lol.

 

I just saw an ad on Instagram yesterday. It's an interesting idea, but I'm not a customer, I'd be considered a "guide". I've been doing this for myself for years.

Some recommendations for the website - tone it down and clean it up. It looks more like an infomercial with all the content forced into the screen real estate and too many testimonials.

 

Really appreciate your feedback as I'm actually working to clean up the site right now. Long story short a web developer took a lot of money and left us high and dry so I'm forced to build out the website on my own right now. Fortunately, there's a lot of spare time on my hands right now and UX friends have started to help out... We have worked hard to keep this a grass-roots company built off of ideas and feedback from people like you so we really appreciate it.

Yea finding off road guides has been tricky... I knew off roading would be difficult but selfishly I wanted it in there because well... I love off roading. Hiking, Climbing, Mountain biking... There is a large network of certified guides out there which has been great. Off roading, we have certified guides in 4x4 mecas like Moab, Flagstaff and what not. In other areas we have found a cool niche of off road guides from the forest service and the off/forest road trail maintenance and builders who 4x4 themselves. Additionally, we've reached out to 4x4 clubs and have gotten guides that way from their active members. AKA we are finding ways to get well educated off road guides because... well, off roading is just fun.

Shameless sales pitch - I hear you on the you're not a customer part and that's where we have to improve our marketing. I've been ski mountaineering, climbing, for years now and have a strong resume in that stuff. I'll tell you what though, its nice going to a completely new area like Bozeman or Bend or shoot most of Cali for me and just having a professional in that area give me the beta on the best areas based on my skill level and what I'm looking for. Mostly this is great for matching a free dispersed campsite with what ever activity I'm trying to do in the area.

but this isn't a sales thing, this is really a thank you for the feedback. It's always difficult to get feedback from folks like you... especially when we cannot travel and go to festivals so really appreciate it.
