Can't you get them from your local RR yard. They swap them out regularly, as they are deemed unfit as soon as they start rotting.

Edit: apparently not. Back in the olden days, that's how it worked. Guess 3rd parties picked up on that and created a market.

 

Yeah, I wish they would do that still. I asked about ties that were being replaced and a section of rail that was damaged in a derailment. They said someone has a contract to get anything removed from service. Same with guard rails that DOT replaces. If there is $ to be had, someone already has a contract...
They wouldnt even let me get rocks from a rockfall that had to be cleared off the road.

 

If memory serves, there are some stacked up by the rails here in Woodinville, that could be had for free late at night. Yeah, I know that's technically stealing and I don't condone it...

 

Think they will let me borrow their equipment to load. Im already a week and a half beyond my cancelled back surgery and dont want to push it too far.

Do you need them permanently? If it's to test fit, you could borrow mine. Just don't drill mounting holes to fit your mount.

Price point is $80 less than Maxtrax and IMPO better bling colors...EAF!

 

Yaaaaa haha I would more than likely need to drill new holes. I am also running a bed platform set up and I only have about six inches to work with. So depending on how wide they are id need to drill a lower hole.
