Not at all! Rye can be tricky. Sometimes it's all spice and body, other times it's all herbal or sweet or even sour. It really depends on the distillery. How do you like high rye bourbons like Wild Turkey?

Which bottle do you like best? The only two I've tried are the ones pictured, and yeah... they're pricey. The 10 store pick was around 70 last year and the 12 year bespoke blend pick was 110.

I really dig the wine casks on this bespoke blend, but that price is hard to swallow. I would have likely passed on it if I couldn't earn raffle tickets for it.

This shop gives out tickets when you buy their store picks. Last year their raffle was the biggest in southeast TX, maybe even all of TX.

I only got 2 tickets last year and walked away from the raffle with a batch 12 jr, OWA 107, and W12 1L. Now that this shop has a location closer to me I'm buying all of my store picks in hopes of scoring something special come December.

I've always wondered about those bottles. What do you think about 'em?
