Would you wait a month for a body shop to take your truck???

Would you wait a month for a body shop to take your truck because they are too busy?

I want to get my truck fixed from getting rearended, and there is a shop around here that does awesome work but they said they wouldn't have time to take my truck in for another month. They have 3 locations and they are all booked up. The guy told me he wants to take the time and do it right (and given the type of work that leaves this place I believe him).

Would you wait or find another shop?

If you find a shop with no wait, that would tell you something.

I'd wait, especially with a color like black. assuming painted panels are involved.

 

yea, i drove my truck for almost 3 months before i got it fixed. get a after market bumper. they are cheaper than, or close to the same price as stock, and a heck of alot stronger. that is what i did. get a cbi offroad or armortech one. they are rock solid. a stock bumper, is over $400 including the plastic crap on top. then you have to get it painted, your looking at $600 or more by the time it is all said and done.

here is my cbi one, if someone hits me now, they are in trouble.

It's all about the quality of service you'll get. But that said, it doesn't mean the shop that can take you right away is necessarily bad, it's just not that easy.

 

I voted yes. I have a list of horror stories about body shops. If you know this guy or company is good and they want you to wait so you get the quality you deserve, I would pull up a chair and wait. At the end of the day though, it's your truck.

 

I'd pick the best shop and wait as long as necessary for a quality repair job.

 

If they do quality work, wait. Especially if you're still able to drive your truck. I made this mistake after I plastered a deer with the Grand Am GT I used to have when I was in college. Got impatient, especially because it probably shouldn't really have been driven much, and skipped out on a shop I knew was good. Ended up getting a shit job done elsewhere. Lesson learned.

Ridiculous statement. I believe there are more hack shops than good shops. If you know of a shop that does good work, then use them.

Who are thinking about using? I worked for Classic Coachworks of Ambler and Classic Coachworks of Fort Washington. I would definitely recommend them, if they are in your area.

 

i voted no on accident. but ya if they're that good of a shop, id get my name on the list and wait it out.

What's the rush? Nobody likes to drive a wrecked truck but if you're going to have to live with the work done, get it done right the first time. Save yourself a lot of headaches. I should have waited on my last tint job, but wanted it faster than the recommended shop could do it. Wish I would have waited.

Dude when I say they put out good work it's pretty nuts... If you ever drive by their 202 shop you'll know what I mean. They have 2 Ford Lightning's as part trucks and all thats ever parked out front that they work on is BMW's and Benz's... Ive even seen a Lambo or 2 out front. lol

 

WAIT,it'll be well woth it in the long run
