Hey fellas, trying to see if I missed a step. I have installed VF Tuner, sent in my ID, received and installed registry. Before bugging OVTune I was hoping to see if anyone else dealt with a similar issue.

When trying to identify ECU I am not seeing an "interface" listed. I can not tell if it is a communication issue between PC and truck or issue in the installation of the registry file.

I am using a 6 month old lenovo yoga running win10 pro along with brand new tatrix cable.

    Thanks

Which drivers? Installed all for VF Tuner, per their email and instructions. Did I miss something else?

The drivers for the tactrix adapter. I think everyone has flash manager so it’s installed as part of that software package. I don’t see it listed in the instructions for vf, but you’ll need it for the odb2 adapter to work.

Thank you, definitely appreciate the help! I will install what ever I can find on their site tonight and give it a shot tomorrow. I had assumed the hardware was plug n play and that VF tuner took place of tactrix software.

Flash manager is the old software. Tactrix is the adapter with the odb2 and USB port. The driver is for your computer to communicate with the computer

if you download flash manager and do install all software, that’ll install the driver. You can also get it from the tactrix website

For brand new customers who have never purchased before and just want to run one of the OVTune pre made tunes, is there a comprehensive list of what should be done before any purchases are made? What needs to be purchased? And from start-to-finish how to execute it?

I have zero interest in developing my own tune. I think OVTune knows more than I could ever hope to know and I trust they’ve developed a solid tune. I do not know which ECU I have and I don’t own anything that could tell me. I would like to purchase everything I need and perform this ASAP but the amount of information in these threads is almost impossible to sift through, I feel like I’m performing a research project. Can anyone jump in and point me in the direction to get started? I don’t want to buy a pedal commander for better throttle response in my truck but simplicity of something like that is appealing, the path from beginning to end for this process seems daunting for a novice.

If you’re wanting a simple plug-n-play experience with a step by step guide, wait it out a few more weeks while OVTune finishes up final tunes. Once those are all published, and the forum has had time to figure out the new flash routines, there will be more than enough help and guidance.

    Soon!
I did a quick search on the website and through this thread, but what's the timeline for MT support in the 3.5L vF tune pack? It's not listed as of yet.

Hey fellas. I was wondering if anyone has a good tune for a truck with 4.88 gears and 33” tires. Tried to download the bata one and it’s just keeps giving me an error. I have the 04B04. Any help would be great.

There are no vF compatible tunes available yet; just the stock ones provided.

If you can flash p5f, the latest version of the 2.0 public beta is fantastic for 4.88 with your tire size. I've got about 300 miles on it with 4.88 and 34-36 tire size and it's much better, smoother than 0944 build which I ran for ages prior.

Links were in the other thread for a while.

I was trying to download that one but it kept giving me an error when trying to download it. All the other ones downloaded just fine.

They all give errors now because Mat only left them available for download for about a week.
