Recently my steering rack has been making a groaning sound at I think most all vehicle and steering turning speeds.
At a standstill, pulling in and out of parking spots, and U-turns.
Kinda sounds like someone rubbing their finger down a wet pane of glass.

Is the rack near the end of its life? Clean the seals?

Also I’m not 100% sure it’s the rack. It could be the oem ball joint on the tie rod, or the uniballs on the camburg kit. The uniballs are a little over 2 years old with most all street driving. Couple pismo trips, and a few desert trips. I’ve been cleaning and lubing them regularly.

Don’t think the sound is there when the suspension cycles though, just when the wheels turn from lock To lock.

    Thanks for any input !

Wouldn't hurt to jack the front up and see if the sound's there when there's no pressure on the wheels.

my camburg upper uniballs make tons of this noise when they need to be cleaned and need a new application of triflow. I’ll notice it more when it’s hot outside.

My truck occasionally does this. Your uniballs are probably dirty.

    Ty all for the replies!
