Articulation ( Flex ) Question!!!

I have been looking for a wile and searching and learning a lot but i can not answer the question i have been looking for. I like the toytec coil overs but the shocks is were i have some questions. Also is there any better coils out there that i could just up grade the shock or coil springs. how much weight will the coil springs support before it starts to sag. ""I want to go with Bilstein because they are Maintenance free""" So my question are for the Front.

1. what dose the preloaded mean? ( Adjustable i think not for sure )
2. If i set it to Min how much lift will it give. and how much lift if i set it two 1.75? ( I have 245/75/16 on they truck now )
3. How much travel will it give me from the stock travel? ( Up and down Travel ) if Any?

I looked and have seen that add a leaf would be the best but i do not want to lift the rear That much.

My question for the rear.

1. If i get the 5100s will it add any Flex?
2. If i get the 5125s will it add any and what Shock Travel, Extended Length, Collapsed Length do i get for this? "11.0, 28.01, 17.00" maybe?

Also what would be the max Tire Wheel Combo I Could Get with no rubbing. And with cutting?

Most front shocks will give you no extra travel over stock. You have to get an extended length one from either Fox, Icon, or King. There may be more but they will all run over about $1000. Also, these coil overs require an after market uca but if you are looking for maximum performance you should get one anyway.

When you lift the truck you gain up travel and lose down travel. If you lift it 2" then you lose 2" down travel and gain 2" up travel.

Preload is when you basically compress the coil before you set any weight on it like the truck. With more preload it's as if you are increasing the tension.

With the Toytec coilovers that you are looking at you can adjust the preload and thus adjust the amount of lift and what kind of ride you want.

If you are adding a bumper and winch then an OME setup may be more for you. You can put an 885 spring for about 2" of lift after a bumper or 886 for about 2.75" of lift after bumper. The OME shocks are also maintenance free like you mentioned liking.

You will gain "flex" or travel with the 5125's in the back but you also have to consider extended brake lines but that's not a big deal.

The biggest tire you can have with basically no chance of rubbing the body mount or anything is 265/75/16.

Built Right's are some high quality units. I just ordered them and am in the middle of installing them.

 

i like the ome so would the 5125s in the back and the 885s in the front with all ome purpose shocks be good and the uca's?

 

The 885's are designed for the 90000 sport shocks and vice versa. They would work great with the uca. It may be a tad high in the front with no bumper and a stock leaf pack in the rear.

Not sure what you mean if it would work with the 5125's.

Of course it would work. They are completely separate. I personally would run ome shocks in the rear if you are going to run them in the front but that doesn't mean that you can't run the 5125's if you wanted.
