So I have a 2020 TRD OR, and my brother has been thinking about getting one too. Well he was out of the house for a few hours yesterday and came back with a brand new 19 P4X.

We took our trucks out yesterday, and we swapped for a little bit, and I ended up driving his truck home.

His truck feels like it has way more balls. Besides getting a tune, pedal commander, etc what can I do to make my truck drive like his lol.

So just the rear end gearing effects how ‘peppy’ it feels. I don’t want a Frontier. I had one before and to me it’s basically a 2nd gen Tacoma.

if it’s too much to ask, what is my rear end ratio, and does anyone know the P4x ratio? I guess I could venture over to club Frontier and ask.

Your Gear Ratio is either 3.91 or 4.30 depending on wether you have an Automatic or Manual.

He has ALWAYS gone the opposite that I have in life. When I got my truck he was really impressed with all the stuff that came with it. He went with me to buy it. That was about 2 months ago.

when we were talking earlier this week, he said he was going to a dealer this weekend and would return with a new truck. Well when he pulled in the driveway it was a Frontier. I was surprised but not shocked.
The reason he said he got it was he just liked the simplicity of it... which it is very.... simple.

I will say this, when we were doing our trails, his truck did everything mine did!

    anyways to each his own.

So I told my brother about this thread I made and he said I could trade my truck in, save $100 a month and get twice the truck.

LOL I have to disagree. But it does have some balls i will say that. Sounded like a skyline. Rofl

Who cares if it’s a little faster. A Nissan, although not a bad vehicle, will never be as good as a Toyota!

The new brand new Frontier is around the corner. I am curious what styling direction Nissan will take.

Give us some perspective... What kind of trails were you on, i.e. how harsh was the off-roading? Anyone can do yearly maintained fire roads, but its the seldom maintained trails where the wheat is separated from the chaff.

Frontier is a great little truck. All of Nissan's vehicles haul balls. They run great.

    A few.
If its a 2020 model it should have the new powertrain, 3.8 liter V6 and 9 speed tranny.

One place I trapped beaver, the owner's son has a Frontier. He said it is OK BUT he would rather have a Tacoma!

which generally means a whole new set of problems until the kinks get worked out.

it will be interesting to see who is happier with their purchase a few years down the road.
