What tire size... 2018 Tacoma TRD Offroad 4WD

I have done a lot of research and have heard many different factors on tire/rim size. I have a 2018 Tacoma TRD Off road and was wondering what brand and size tire you guys have? I am leaning towards 285/75/R16 BF Goodrich KO2. We off-road quite a bit, more mud/sand.

 

265/75/16

Depending on type of mud and how much rain you get, I would go with 285/75/16.
265, I would have to get the PSI really low; more than liking. Anything thinner than 265 would just dig and in my area (Louisiana/Arkansas), soft mud goes down pretty deep so digging in to find compact mud/dirt is not really going to help.

 

285’s are probably a perfect size for our truck size but you will have to do a cmc. It also depends on if you’re keeping the stock ride height. If so then 265/75/16

 

285 70 17 ko2, I hear you need to trim your plastic if you run any negative offset and maybe a cmc. But I got my cmc before I even got the 285 since I was planning to go bigger anyways. Just got 315 70 17 now just planning where to cut my plastic

 

I wouldn't say it's perfect. I wanted 255s for tall and skinny. The way they look with aggressive threading looks more badass in my opinion plus the weight on those suckers compared to most 285s are pretty awesome (better mpg). The only reason I went with 285s is cause of the terrain in my area.

 

Are you planning to run 285 on your stock wheels? They will rub against your uca unless you get spacers

Maybe put Billstien 5100's in the front if needed but was hoping to avoid spacers.....

 

I met this dude with 285 on stock wheels, he had 2 inch lift in front and told me it rubs his uca when offroading. So he had to run spacers. I personally never experienced that myself because I had 0 offset wheels when I got bigger tires. I guess with certain articulations it will
