This is my backyard. Kinda. I can be to the base of all three in 10 miles or less of driving.

    1 is Mt Humphrey(13933').
    2 is Basin Mountain(13187').
    3 is Mt Tom(13652').

Nice. the Sierra Nevadas are beautiful.

I miss living near the Cascades, but my line of work keeps he where I'm at, plus I have a gun collection.

"Average individual income in 2019 in the United States was $58,379.45."
Just for notation, $1000 a week is almost what the average person in america makes in a year. It isn't just bottom of the barrel jobs where unemployment + stimulus check beats going back to work. I doubt places are gonna open back up nearly as quick as they closed

So the thing is betterment actually just invests in index funds and shows you which ones it’s investing in and with how much weight. It takes a few clicks to get there but it’s really transparent. I’m still new to this whole DIY investing thing so I haven’t cut over to managing my Roth/investments yet, only dicking around with some Monopoly money in td. But I was able to calculate out based on my current principal, planned added contributions, and estimated growth and management fees what I’d be paying someone to do long term for what takes me like only 4 minutes to do every year. So it sounds like I’ll probably be pulling out of betterment and transferring to self directed (into the same ETFs let’s be fair) pretty soon.

anyone here jump on a 0% financing for a vehicle? Is it truly 0%? I can see financing at a normal rate as an ass raping but 0%?!?!? I see that more like a groping....either way you are still a victim.

0% is not quite zero. Incentives doesn't apply to 0%. I do a comparison between 0% and bank rate plus incentive over the same term to see if it's worth it. Try it in google search "auto loan calculator"

    Yeah, typo...sniper edit.
ROKU had long calls I wanted but was avoiding because of the bad math...The premium, if invested in the shares themselves, was worth more if the shares reached the call price + the premium...I LOVE ROKU but it was steep...Like the 1 years right now even after the huge miss...The September 16, 2022 $160 is $40.05 right now AFTER the $6.05 drop. $4005 buys 32 shares of ROKU. If you ride out the call the shares have to close at $200 ($16000+$4005) on 9/16/22...32 shares over that same time rising to $200 is 32*(200.05-126.6) = $2350 and a share value of $6,400 (32 shares) for the call to reach that value it would have to be insanely in the money which only increases the earnings for the 32 shares... with zero risk of the stock missing $160...Just way too expensive. That's why I bought DIS long calls. DIS is at $109 right now...the $120 June 17, 2022 ($11/10% over share price) is $17.25...The ROKU calls are nearly 4x the price over the same time. You can't even get a June 17, 2022 $200 ROKU call for under $40.00...The ROKU call prices are CRAZY!!! And I really think the DIS calls are a bargain
We did a road trip vacation a few years ago...1,300 miles, including driving from SF to Yosemite---Kings Canyon ---Sequoia---LA Amazing area out there!!!

I checked the website last night after several beers, and there was a debate going on. I couldn’t focus enough to read it all, so I just dropped some wisdom (which was all misspelled, I had to edit it like 10 times) :D

I've never played the long call game with options. The longest I go until expiry is 60 days. I've briefly looked at long call options but the volatility that far out has always steered me away from them. Maybe I'll look into them further but I'm not exactly patient with trading in my personal account. In my IRA I'm much more long term.

I knew ROKU was a high on the premium side but was pretty sure they'd beat earnings and I truly like them as a company. I picked up 2 May 15 $120 calls on 4/16 for a premium of 18.10. I use a combo of Bollinger Bands, SMA, and MACD to do my best to figure out a short term move. I combine that with upcoming earnings to try and make some coin. In ROKU's case I thought about selling the day before earnings because of what happened to NFLX. I literally had the sell tab open twice that day. I waited and it cost me at least 2K. I'll know more next week. They'll still finish in the money so I'll make some back but it could have been a lot more.

My next short bull play up is NVDA. I'm sitting on 12 June 19 $290 calls. They release earnings on the 21st. With the way the charts looked and their recent acquisition of Mellanox I'm betting they will beat and also give strong guidance. Right now I've made about 14% on that play. Time will tell if it make me a whole lot more then that. It's a lot of money to have on the line but NVDA's time in the sun is far from over IMO.

That's why if I have the cash I like to buy options in 2's...one to sell to make SOME $$ and one to gamble with...I'm still holding Jun 2020 DIS 107 PUTS...I paid $4.4 i think and they are now at like $2.20...but I'm waiting for ONE MORE DIP PLEASE to unload them...

Oh and the reason I like the long calls is you can get them into 15% long term capital gains tax :)

I have 2 of them. I got greedy and I'll pay for it. Funny thing is I've learned that lesson before. Guess it was time to refresh my memory. lol

Yup...been there...the advice I received was "what's the number you're happy with? Don't get greedy" and every time I hold all I get burned it seems...The sell half always leaves me regretting when it goes UP but always feeling good when it goes down. I also literally will use a coin toss if I can't decide "Siri, flip a coin" that way I can't blame anything...

Yup, though Ford does a thing called "private cash offers" which apply even with 0%. They're targeted to individuals and are non-transferrable. Works out great if you happen to get one. Not sure if other manufacturers have an equivalent.

At a time where I'd maybe consider it, I haven't seen one. Got two in the past--one when my truck was a few months old and one when it was a year old. They never time it right for me.

So I was waiting for an hour for my food in the Olive Garden parking lot and the guy in the car to my right said “damn I shoulda brought another dip with me” so once that astute conversation ended, the guy in the car on my left said “with all this money printing, what do you think will happen when the Fed declares bankruptcy after the election?” I paused, I hadn’t really thought about that. Is that something even possible? Also any predictions on the market this week?

I didn’t need to tell about the dip guy, I just thought the sharp contrast in convos I had in the OG parking lot was funny
